Hoping to unearth the secrets of Ancient Greece from the comfort of your own home? CGPโs highly convenient KS2 book is chock-full of engaging information about life in Ancient Greece, the achievements of the Greeks and how this has influenced the modern world. Itโs packed with pupil-friendly explanations and questions, plus plenty of full-colour photos, illustrations and timelines. Thereโs also a matching Activity Book (9781782949701) containing a range of thought-provoking questions about the Greeks - ideal for making sure all that new knowledge really sticks. Review: The roots of democracy - Iโm green with envy. I wish such beautiful and great childrenโs history books were available when I was my daughterโs age. Already the colorful presentation makes it worth buying these books. But that is even surpassed by the clearness of the text and organisation of topics that are brilliantly accompanied by timelines and maps. I read a lot of semi-academic history books and genenally complain about the lack of graphs and timelines which apparently is a taboo for serious authors. So I have now bought all the books in this series. My daughter absolutely loves them as it allows her to get a fairly complete overview of a topic and it provides her with lots of facts. A few years ago we visited several of the key ancient Greek sites on the Peloponnesos, like Delphi and Olympia so this brings it more to life and serves as a great reminder for her. And her little brother will soon start read some of these earlier years books as well. I obviously like to read them as well its a good read and a nicely illustrated rehearsal of the basics. The only dwaback is the soft cover format. As is clear, I really like these books and would have even more appreciated them in a more durable hard cover format. Review: Great book - Great book for my Granson full of information to help him at school

Great book for Year 6 KS2 students for topic
My daughter is doing Ancient Greece in Year 6 as part of her KS2 SATS and this book is ideal, it has some great features all illustrations gracing each page. This covers literally everything they will need to know. The contents are broken down into the following :- 1. Introduction to Ancient Greece (Welcome to Greece, meet the Greeks etc.) 2. Daily Life in Ancient Greece (Gorwoing up Greece, how they lived, Olympic Games etc.) 3. Ancient Greek Culture (Beliefs, myths, science and philosophy etc.) 4. The Greeks at War (Warfare and Alexander the Great etc.) 5. The Legacy of Ancient Greece (Lasting Achievements) Once you have flicked through this book and given yourself a quick refresher, it is amazing what a legacy they left behind them. Well recommended for any Year 6 child doing KS2 SATS. Excellent/Historical Ancient Greece KS2 Book
Excellent informative book. Easy to understand. Full of lots of interesting information. I bought this to homeschool my Year 5 daughter with her current topic on Ancient Greece. In absence of a Teacher this helped tremendously!
