I bought 3 of these cans. When I pulled them out of the box there was a sticker on each that says "not for fuel use". What's up with that?

In the past, there were three different types of lacquer sprays applied to the interior for different uses. I believe just one spray is used now that accommodates all types of liquids contained. The “not for fuel use” is there to be in compliance with the California Air Resources Board’s codes. Unfortunately, while CARB means well, their codes in this particular situation are antithetical to their overall mission. These are the best jerry cans on the market, made to the NATO spec and produced by the best manufacturer for such cans. And still miles better than NATO’s new plastic twist-top cans.

Is this a knock off or the real deal? I see mixed reviews that they are authentic

Is this the carb approved spout or the real nato spout?

The image is of the the EPA CARB spout. CampingMaxx still has a supply of the original NATO Fast Flow spouts which can be substituted for the EPA spout by sneding them an email to do so. Jerry - The Gear Guy

will I see color of fuel changes from inner paint, if not, how long can I expect to store fuel without paint issue?

I've had these cans for about 7 years and haven't had any paint issues with them yet. I use gas stabilizer with them all the time.
