Covers pretty much EVERYTHING. Mind = blown
I can wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone wanting to pick up not JUST Flutter, but also the fundamentals of dart, working with Firebase, MLKit, and SO much more. What really impresses me is that Simone has even taken time to go deep into software architecture and design fundamentals (model view patterns, proper state management and so on), and personalized it to the Flutter/Dart paradigm. He covers everything from setting the Flutter kit up on your PC, to deploying Flutter apps, packages, websites and more. The bottom line is, if you're looking for a one stop solution for all your Flutter learning needs, THIS IS IT.Thanks for the amazing work put into this, Simone, and everyone else who contributed to it.

I highly recommend this book to be kept beside you while developing a Flutter App. It helps a lot.
Book review:-1) A section was taken to explore the dart language basics. That was so nice and things are explained well, also given references to the topics.2) Third section on Widgets are awesome. I have learnt new things under the hood of the widgets and how the process will goes and how the flutter handles widgets.3) Mastering Layout and Taming the Widget Tree Section provides very important and basic knowledge that is needed for a flutter developer to begin with layouts, themes and editor tools.4) Adding Interactivity and Navigation has designed well. Explained nice about scrolling and listviews. The Navigation part gives good idea about screens.5) I like the way that the concern has taken to every section of flutter concepts and really helps a lot to learners to develop from noob to pro level. Architecture has designed so beautiful.6) Overall I like the pattern followed in the book and concepts that explained, highlighted key points to be remembered, provided references. A full-fledged book for persons who looks to build their future in Flutter framework.

A great book for beginners
This book isn't like many of your "cookbook" style programming books which assume some level of understanding of the programming language. This books is designed for beginners who don't know any dart/flutter, and teaches you with robust code examples (unlike many books that only show you a snippet and expect you to follow along somehow without the greater context). That makes it pretty thick as half or more of the pages are just code, but it's worth the bulk for sure. At almost half way through I've found a few minor errors in the code but overall this book is one of the best I've read for learning a new language.

Code samples out of date and not maintained
This appears to be a well written and well structured book for those trying to pick up dart and flutter from scratch. Unfortunately the code samples in the book are out of date as of September 2022 (dart 2.18.1) - that's understandable but I was very disappointed to find that the source repo has not been updated. It appears the errors are likely due to null-safety changes in more recent versions of dart, and there may be a workaround by switching off null-safety. I would not recommend doing this as you're then wasting your valuable time teaching yourself an out-of-date version of dart/flutter. I prefer to try to understand and fix the errors but this is a time-consuming distraction. I may soon give up and look for another resource. Summary - don't buy this book unless you can see clear evidence in the description that code examples have been updated.

The best book for Flutter 2.x development in 2021
Anyone interested in developing Flutter applications for Android or iOS should have a copy of this book on their desk. It has 100s of great examples. But more importantly, the authors explain the "whys" for behind each of the features they discuss. The materials are completely up-to-date. The audience is everybody from a "beginner" to "experienced developers": the only prerequisite is having some familiarity with at least one object-oriented programming language (like C#, Java or Python, among others). If you're interested in Flutter - or even if you've already developed a few Flutter apps - I can't recommend this book highly enough.

Very good guide
The book is very detailed and it covers everything for someone who wants to learn Flutter. The recipes and instructions are very clear. As a beginner to Flutter/Dart, I consider it as a valuable resource. The reason for not rating 5 is the book became bit out dated. It covers Dart version 2.12 and changes made for null security, but some of the code snippets in the book need to be modified to ensure null security.

Outdated - Code Samples do not work as printed
I like the structure of the book. The recipes are useful, well explained and taken altogether are a great introduction to Flutter development with Dart.Unfortunately the authors decided to provide all the code samples without "sound null safety". This is especially strange since they advertise the book as being written for Flutter 2.2, which uses Dart 2.13 and null safety was introduced with Dart 2.12.Following the book using the current version of Flutter then results in numerous errors in every single recipe, as shown in an example screenshot. While finding occasional errors in code samples is a great learning experience, it distracts from the goal of the book if one constantly has to fix null safetyerrors.Of course, sound null safety can be disabled and presumably this would resolve the issues, but why a book written as recently as 2021 would omit this arguably useful feature is baffling. I can only assume that the authors used existing code samples and didn't want to put in the effort of migrating the code to using null safety. What's most irritating is the fact that there is no mention of the fact that the samples, though touted as using Flutter 2.2, do not work with that version out of the box and would require disabling null safety. The unfortunate decision to provide code examples from an older/outdated language version without so much of a footnote overshadows an otherwise solid approach to learning the Flutter Framework and I recommend looking for other resources.
