Nice product, wrong size for my pegs
Very nicely made, and wouldโve worked well, but I didnโt measure the pegs on my dulcimer. Make sure you measure the pegs because this is larger than 4 mm..

Does the job for a very untuned piano.
My family piano used to play an incorrect note out of tune when I pressed a key. Now it plays the correct note slightly out of tune when I press a key thanks to this device. I only fixed two octaves and a few more keys on the low end of the piano. I ainโt messinโ with the three-string high notes using this device (I did tune some pretty alright, but man the returns are diminished at the three-string keys). Iโm just a guy that can only play โMary Had a Little Lambโ on the piano. For someone that really r e a l l y cares about their piano tuning, use a device with a longer, firmer lever or- Iโm sure you know -get your fancy piano serviced by a professional. If youโre like me and just trying to see if you could fix a plain family piano, thisโll do.

Cheap, but Sufficient for Beginners
Just got a 'free' 100 year old piano. Appears it will need frequent tuning. I am watching videos and learning how to do that. The tool grabs and holds the square pegs very well. I appreciate that the tool's hole is square -- seems to hold better. I can adjust wires with a bit of work. Very good introductory tool. Easy to get a feel for what's going on without spending a lot of money. However, I would like a longer handle. Tiny movements make significant changes to the frequency. In a few months, I'll probably spend the $50 to $80 to buy one of the longer tools for more leverage. I will also want to get some rubber plugs (using fingers works, but not optimal).

Just say, "NO!!!"
If anyone ever asks you to help them, disassemble a piano? Just laugh hysterically, while pointing an index finger at them. Then just say, NO!!! This spanner wrench is unique to removing the pins from a piano. The pin holds a piano wire in place. Each key on the piano has three different piano wires, held by these tuning pins. And it's an absolute nightmare, removing 264 pins by hand. You can jerry-rig a socket to try and use a battery powered drill, but these pins are REALLY sunk in there. And your drill is going to get a hernia trying to muscle every one of those little born-out-of-wedlock's out of the wood they're screwed into. Massive pain in the extreme lower back, if ya know what I mean. The spanner wrench worked to back those little born-out-of-wedlock's far enough, where the drill had a chance to remove them the rest of the way. Absolute pain. NEVER volunteer to help someone disassemble a piano.

Very little leverage and feels very fragile
Difficult to actually turn the tuning pegs, this is very small. The handle feels incredibly fragile and wobbly. It works if you're careful though, I've retuned the same piano monthly for the past 8 months with this. Could definitely see it breaking if you're not careful enough though - make sure to grip it firmly at the base of the handle, close to where it meets the metal wrench.

worked great
My paster gave me an old piano that had been sitting for years and was full of mud daubers nests. I cleaned it out, but it needed to be tuned so I got this tool, since I know how to tune pianos, and it worked just fine, not only for tuning my piano, but the piano of the paster who gave me my piano.

Mighty Little Giant
Needed to help dismantle a 70 year old upright. Skeptical it wouldn't last any time at all. Three hours later and it was still going stronger then I was!!!!!! What a lifesaver! Impressed.

Makes dismantling a piano a breeze
Effective and well priced piano spanner. Dismantling an old piano I was super scared about removing the strings. I was able to safely and easily loosen and remove all strings on a large upright piano.
