This book taught me more than my Ph.D. in Finance about how to handle often stressful if not terrifying issues with the IRS. The book is replete with understandable and detailed strategies for handling IRS problems from taxes due, to audits, to the appeals process. While I strongly recommend reading the entire book, one could easily select specific chapters pertinent to personal tax dilemmas. The statement that “knowledge is power” has never been more accurate than on the pages of this excellent and very interesting book. Not the least bit dry or too technical, instead this book engages the reader while demystifying the most intricate and loathsome IRS procedures. Highly recommended for everyone since we will all more than likely face at least one IRS encounter at some point! Be forearmed. READ this BOOK!

I learned a lot and I know what do when I do my taxes

If you are new to tax practice, or are dealing with an audit or IRS enforcement action, this book gives you a good overview of resources, processes and inside insights from former agents. A must read.

Well written and researched. A must have for any tax pro who is enrolled to practice before the IRS even though it is written for the average taxpayer. As a stakeholder liaison getting ready to retire from the IRS, I keep this on my phone to use as a quick reference for IRS letters and notices when CPAs and EAs call me needing help representing clients. It will be a part of my reference material when I open my tax practice in January.

As a CPA myself in practice, this has to be the most thoroughly explained book I've ever read when it comes to dealing with the IRS. It clearly shows in the level of experience of the authors and really appreciated the level of depth in their explanation of every situation imaginable. This has truly helped me work with my clients in resolving IRS situations!
