Light and Fast
My last soldering station was a 40-watt Weller with a long heavy shaft. This thing has a shorter, lighter, more maneuverable shaft, and it has twice the power. It's fantastic. The Weller was like using a spoon on the end of a barbell to spread butter on goldfish crackers. I'm not knocking the Weller; it works fine. But the Ersa is better. This iron heats up in a few seconds. It has a neat digital readout. You can get tons of different tips. It takes up very little room. You can't beat it.They should add a little storage area for tips.

Big disappointment, burned pants
The media could not be loaded. I bought the Pico based on my great experiences with Ersa stations where I work. But it has a critical problem, which is that it likes to drop the hot soldering tip in your lap. The collar fits perfectly alone, but when combined with the tip, it only has about a half a thread to secure it. So it cannot possibly be secured. I also have two other Ersa tips (the one shown came with the station) that have the same problem. If the metal portion of the collar assembly was a few mm longer it would be fine. For the price, this is a huge disappointment. I included a video showing the problem. I absolutely made certain that the parts were fit with as much room as possible to thread the collar, and it was just insufficient.

Ersa Pico is a great hobbyist iron
Ersa Pico is a great hobbyist iron, it holds a good temp, and it heats up the tip that comes with it in about 9 seconds.
