Will black make my dark brown hair black?

Yes. Any color darker than your current hair color will work. However it will fade to a warm black/dark brown. For a permanent black get permanent hair color.

Are there any brown colors?

I don't believe so I think that is easily achieved by many other hair color brands .Manic Panic was designed because there was no other way to get wild colors other than hair conditioner .food coloring and Koolaid mixed together.

Does this dye last forever?

No. I tried this on bleached hair and it lasted about 2 months then it faded very fast (I wash my hair every other week when I have temp dye in). When on my natural hair which is a medium to dark brown it last 3-4 weeks tops which was disappointing. Now if you are asking about shelf life after opening then yes. I have some dye from 2-3 years ago that I used and it still have same results as when first opened.

Does it contain ethanolamine?

I dont see that on Iist. Also these work on light hair. I hv a white streak that I color.
