Easy to use and perfect for DIY engine work
I purchased this Tanstic 12-piece valve spring compressor and lapping set for some engine maintenance on my motorcycle, and it works really well. The tools are solid and well-made — the metal feels strong, and the clamps hold securely without slipping. What I like most is how straightforward it is to use. Even though I’m not a professional mechanic, the C-clamp design makes compressing and installing valve springs much easier and safer. The valve lappers are also smooth and help achieve a proper seal quickly. The set comes with everything I need in one kit, neatly packed so I don’t lose any pieces. It saved me a lot of time compared to using makeshift tools, and I felt confident working on my engine without risking damage. Overall, a great value for DIYers and anyone doing their own engine work. Durable, easy to use, and complete — highly recommended.

Easy to use
I needed an inexpensive compressor for small displacement motorcycle rebuilds. This tool was delivered overnight. The case makes storage and organization of the various components very easy. Lastnight I used it for the first time to remove the valves from a vintage 70cc Honda head and it worked perfectly. Made the job incredibly easy. The parts seem to be of good quality and everything functioned flawlessly. I have not tried the valve lapping tool yet but even if it’s horrible, the spring compressor will make up for it. I have no idea how the compressor would work on larger displacement engines but it’s a fantastic deal if you work on smaller engines.

Worked ok …mostly , then metal fatigue
The valve compressor worked ok ..for awhile. Then the threads started to shred/ bind needing oil to keep working/ turning. Then the device itself started to bend significantly after doing a 24 valve job removal/installation. Had mixed feelings about asking for a refund but thought I wouldn’t want to trust it again on another valve job- more bending possibly to the point of not working at all during use.

Great value for overhead valves
Worked great to compress valve springs. Lapping tool could be a bit better on suction.

Works great!
The spring compressor is fantastic. The only issue with the lapping tool is the suction cup is weak at times if it’s not perfect. Otherwise it’s fantastic.

Compression Tool Helpful, Valve Lapper Trash
I used this to remove the valve springs from the head of a 2001 Nissan Sentra. The compression tool works wonderfully. The 25mm fitting is a little small, but the 30 is far too large. But it was functional. The valve lapper, however, was complete garbage. The rubber of the lappers was stiff and not pliable at all. I could not get consistent suction, regardless of what I did, so I couldn't lap the valves effectively. I ended up going to a local auto parts store and purchasing a lapper there, which worked swimmingly. If you need the compression tool, opt for the version without the lappers.

Valve spring compressor
Haven't used it yet but it looks of really good quality. Good casting for the price. I'll be using it as soon as my valves stem seals to the car arrive. Fast shipping as well. Thanks.

Valve spring compression tool.
Rebuilt a Jeep 4.0L inline six head. Spring compression tool was easy to use and compresses the sping fully without coming disengaged and sending the spring & keepers across the garage like some of those cheaper designs. Was a breeze to remove the valve keepers. Only a few dollars more than those cheaper designs.

worked amazing for valves buried deep in head. 4.2 L V8 Touareg

For the price point this is a great tool. It can handle high pound rate double springs without bending (to much) compared to clamping style spring compressors it offers much more control and ease when trying to get tricky collects in.
