These plates and bowls look amazing. It came in it's own box which was then put into a larger box with a lot of empty space for it to get thrown about inside and the box itself came nearly crushed, luckily the actual box of dishware was spared... In terms of durability, Haven't dropped it or anything yet, but they seem sturdy enough to get clanked on on top of a dish rack. However, if you are the type that likes to use a lot of force when cutting something tough, do not do it on this plate, it will actually leave a mark if you go too ham.

LOVE LOVE LOVE. simple, elegant, very well made.Addendum: I own set three sets now and have had two sets replaced as two sets each had a shattered dish in them.. So five shipments in all. Two of the five shipments arrived intact. Three did not. This latest one has a dish with a large chip in it. I have not sent it back as frankly, the odds are not great that i'll get a whole set next time either. It's a pity because the dinnerware is beautiful. So, five stars for the item, two stars for the condition upon arrival and five stars for customer service at Amazon.

They look great. They make a sound of high quality when you’re stacking them. The subtle pale grey of them, with the dark grey rim, are very attractive and classy looking.Two things, though:The salad plate could sure be bigger.There’s a bit of a hump in the center of the plates.But I would still recommend them.

This is the perfect every day set - slim design for cabinet and dishwasher - but, heavy enough to hold up to serve hearty meals to boys. The simple, attractive design lets the food take center stage. Love that the pieces can be heated to 220F to keep food warm that rapidly cools on a cold plate. I haven't had the set long enough to see utensil marks, but the information sheet that was included in the package states how to remove these marks should they occur. A bit expensive for everyday use, but I think they are a good value considering the quality.

I ordered this item off a gift registry at the end of May the shower was not until Saturday July 22rd. When the bride to be open the box she discovered that there were several broken pieces. Unfortunately the date to return the dishes was July 3rd. $170 down the drain just because I bought the gift as soon as I got the invitation. I don't know what I'm going to do.

These dishes are terrific, they are exactly what we wanted. Unfortunately, one of the bowls arrived broken. The Q&A on this product page implied that they would replace broken parts. This is not the case as they have insisted that we return the entire set to replace a single bowl. That seems outrageous so I guess we paid for a 16-piece set and got a 15-piece set instead!Very frustrating!

High quality all-round set, love it. You can also buy additional large pasta bowls direct from the Royal Doulton site - delivered in 5 days to NYC.Durable, easy to clean, look like a high end restaurant settings. Not a mark after about 3 months daily use.

The set looks nice but I expected a little better quality from a set at this price point. They are a bit thin and have an overall dainty feel about them. Two of them were broke upon delivery. I'm afraid it won't be long before the rest break. I bought these to replace a set of less expensive Gibson however, I'll be holding on to them. Will probably need them again. Definitely don't recommend if you have children!Buyer beware - When I tried to file a claim for the broken pieces, Amazon told me I had to take it up with the seller. When I contacted the seller, they told me I had to file a claim with Amazon! Amazon finally made it good and authorized a return.
