Hydro Flask 16 OZ Wide Flex SIP LID Clementine

This is one of two HydroFlasks I own. One is bulletproof, however this one is faulty as it has rust spots on the inside. Returned it.Also agree with other comments that the lid is overly complex and hard to clean.For the above two reasons I've switched to a competitor product.

With so many choices on the market for insulated bottles the big differentiator for me is ease of cap cleaning. This Hydro Flask is the most convoluted I've seen. It requires nothing short of intense brute strength to undo the cap, where upon one finds a huge build-up of nasty coffee grime, far exceeding that of competing brands. It is the only cap where I have to use a grip pad to twist off the top. Once, I forgot to bring a grip pad camping, and not one of the half dozen scout leaders (grown men with big beards) could undo the top. I bought this as a gift for my wife, who still can't remove the top even with a grip pad. She now uses my Klean Kanteen bottle--super easy to remove and clean cap--and I am stuck with this sad Hydro Flask thing. Recommend going with another brand.
