REXTiN® WS2811 Pixels Digital Addressable LED String Lights Waterproof RGB Full Color 12mm DC 12V (DC12V 500pcs)

I bought 2,000 of these lights a year ago and installed them permanently on my home under the eves. I mostly followed a video guide I found online from a DrZzs on youtube. I recommend the 12V version of these instead of the 5v. These are very bright lights. In the 2,000 lights I received, I only had one pixel that stayed red no matter what color it is supposed to be. It is easy to splice in a new pixel, just make sure you maintain the proper direction. IMPORTANT INFORMATION ***** These only work in one direction!!! ***** what that means is if you cut and splice sections or pixels, make sure they are all fed from the same end of the strand (male vs. female). If you accidentally get one backwards it will not work. Big bummer after you spend 2 days putting them up on your house! I found that if I plugged in more than 7 strands (70') they started acting funny. The voltage dropped from 13.5V to 11.5V after 70'. Instead of injecting power every 70' or so by running feeders from the power supply, I just bought (3) power supplies and fed them from both ends and the middle. The 12V DC power supplies I bought on Amazon were $18 ... cheaper than the wire I could buy for feeders. I also used the Magic LED SP105E controller, which connects to your phone via Bluetooth and allows you to change the lights to one of 200+ shows. Absolutely highly recommend these lights as you can use them for all holidays, parties, or whenever!

Used around 700 so far, no issues, great leds.

Great Product, can be used with both Adafruit Neopixel library as well as Fast Led open source pixel library. Tip, Fast LED has a nice Calibrate sketch for Arduino which will help you determine the RGB order of these as well as other Pixel LED Strips. Spoiler: In my case the RGB order was as follows for my purchase RGB Order = BGR Along with NEO_KHZ800 if using Adafruit's library !!!!! ALSO VERY IMPORTANT STEP !!!!!! WHEN USING WITH AN EXTERNAL POWER SUPPLY AND ARDUINO DO NOT FORGET TO CONNECT THE GROUND OF THE PIXEL STRIP BACK TO THE ARDUINO'S GROUND PIN. IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS STEP THE COLORS WILL BE RANDOM AND YOU WILL BE LEFT FRUSTRATED FOR SOME TIME. I SCRATCH MY HEAD FOR HOURS AS MANY ONLINE NEOPIXEL TUTORIALS DID NOT MENTION THIS STEP. ALSO, ME BEING AN ELECTRONICS NOOBLET IT WAS NOT CLEAR AND SO I ONLY CONNECTED THE PIXEL DATA IN TO THE ARDUINO PIN AND CONNECTED THE POWER LINES TO AN EXTERNAL 12V POWER SUPPLY. THE ONLINE TUTORIALS LEAVE THIS STEP OUT PROBABLY BECAUSE THEY ARE TYPICALLY 5V TUTORIALS WHICH ARDUINO CAN HANDLE. SO NATURALLY ONE WOULD CONNECT THE PIXEL'S GROUND BACK TO THE ARDUINO'S GROUND PIN. HOWEVER, IF PURCHASING THE 12V STRIP YOU WILL NEED AN EXTERNAL POWER SUPPLY AND THUS THIS IS LEFT OUT OF MOST TUTORIALS I CAME ACCROSS. !!!!!!! I HOPE THIS HLEPS SOMEONE AS I STRUGGLED FOR SOME TIME FIGURING THIS OUT.

I tried a different brand and had nothing but issues. I have over 3k of these pixels and all work great. The only negative is that the connectors are not waterproof and will corrode if not kept dry. Still a great product and reliable.

none of the pixels worked from the controller. some would work only after manipulating the power, or control data cable. it appears that some of the pixels are dead. I would not recommend this product unless the company could either replace, or refund my money for these worthless pixel lights. Update I was able to get the strings to work, and man are they good looking! Changed my rating to 4 stars. Will buy again.

I used these pixels for permanent holiday lights on my house. I needed something durable and weather proof that can endure the elements. The pixels were all filled with epoxy and all of them worked as they should. They're very bright and the colors are true. What more could you ask for? You won't be disappointed with these!

Bought during the Christmas season, these lights work very well and are extremely bright. I am hoping they last for a few years. I will update next year with their status :)

I am planning to use these as permanent lights. Tested them on the ground. Works as expected. To make them work, I used 12V power supply, quin LED controllor, and data booster. I had to work quiet some time to get them up bcz of the controller set up ete...

I needed something to dominate the neighbours in their outdoor Xmas light game so bought these to dominate them. Connected all strings with waterproof plugs and sockets, powered with a 12v supply, a wemos D1 to control and a cheap level shifter to run that using WLED. I used all 10 strings. No power injection needed as long as they are not all white. I had zero failures out of the 500 and they survived wind, rain and snow and low temps for two months, no problem. The leds are very bright and colourful, from pastels to bright primary colours and reacted quickly. Highly recommended. Utterly mullered the neighbours and will be doubling up this Christmas.

Let's start with cons : The SMELL, They smell so bad for days, had to leave them outside. That plastic smell that a lot have mentioned. Spacing between pixels is too tight. Hard to get to 3"without pulling hard between. Came with couple pixels werent waterproofed (no epoxy inside) Now the good stuff: Seller was quick to address "the no epoxy issue" in those couple pixels to my satisfaction. All pixels work during initial Testing and for almost 3 weeks now outside ON for about 8hrs/day Minimal power injection needed with the rexin. The wiring seem smaller compared to other pixels I use from a different vendor but with the Rexin, I do not need any power injection. ( I needed power injection with the other pixels from Ali while using 250 in a row) At this time, I have over 900 pixels divided in 4 channels 250-196-239-229. Color accuracy is great and no issue with flickering or data problems with these. Refresh rate is a bit slow but I am not sure if that is controller or the pixels.. They been up on my house for 2-3 weeks now and no complaints, Will update review if that change. Overall Im quite happy with this product

I bought 2 sets of 500 lamps. I'll be using these for 3d effects on a tree (not just for Christmas) following standupmaths (youtube) ideas. The product is great. The smell reported by others faded quickly. I did have an issue with one segment, however customer services were polite and efficient and replaced the faulty segment quickly.

You need to pair them with a controller, I use a Dig-Quad, in my testing all the 500 pixels worked well, no lemons. I was able to mount these to the first level of my home, without any problems. These lights are the best ones in my neighborhood because I'm able to change them to different patterns. I did notice that the price for these has changed recently, I got 500 pixels for $219+tax which I thought was a pretty good price. At the higher price, you guys make your own decision.
