Stays hot longer
I thought boiling water was the same temperature no matter how you boiled it, but now I wonder.Maybe I’m crazy but I recently stayed at the Guest House at Crystal Hermitage. I knew they would have a boiler too so I left mine at home. Both boilers brought the water to a rolling boil prior to shutting off. The on at CH boiled longer before shutting off. (Theirs is a glass boiler. The product I served stayed hotter longer with the boiler I purchased here.I’m also very happy with the size of the boiler.

Reliable, sturdy, long-lasting
I’ve had this thing a few years now and it’s still going strong! I use it a minimum of twice a day, every single day. Sturdy, reliable, and no part of it gets hot to the touch even while it boils, so no chance of burning myself while I’m half awake in the morning. :) The green color is a bit different from the product image—it’s not that vibrant at all—so if you’re buying it for the color, just be aware.

Heats quickly and it's HUGE! - Ordered in White
I have only put this through the 5 heat and rinse cycles the instructions suggest. It heats/boils consistently at 7:55 seconds. Keep in mind this thing is huge and is heating about a gallon of water to a boil in less than 8 minutes.I want to mention that it is very important to use filtered water in this. All of the crusty looking, rusted photos on here in the reviews is because their water was not well filtered. I know this because I ran the first fill/heat/rinse with regular tap water because I was just going to dump it out. When I poured out the water, there was half moon shaped crusty, brown deposit on the bottom of the inside. I had to descale it with filtered water and a tiny bit of vinegar to get it out. Then I used filtered water for the next 4 times of fill/heat/rinse and it was totally fine. For filter reference, I have a Waterdrop G2 Reverse Osmosis System, 7 Stage Tankless RO Water Filter System, Under Sink Water Filtration System, 400 GPD, 1:1 Pure to Drain, Reduces TDS, FCC Listed, USA Tech, WD-G2-W. It is totally worth it. Right now Amazon has it for sale for $299 and there is an $80 coupon with it right now. Clearly, this thing works well at cleaning your tap water. Mine is 4 years old (filters are new) and still cleans it well enough to notice with this boiling experiment. This did take a very long time to ship. It looked like the large version of a little travel one I already have that has worked so well, it seemed worth the wait. The outer shell is hard plastic, not the flimsy plastic that I have seen out there. The inside is stainless steel that is in one piece, without seams anywhere to get rusty. It makes it very easy to wipe out if needed.I will update this review after I've used this for a while. So far, so good.

Excellent kettle
This kettle is whisper quiet. It's large and easy to handle with no heat on the exterior. The lid is really loud and slams when it closes. I hold the button open when I close the lid and it doesn't slam.

So good I bought two of them
I've bought half a dozen tea kettles from Amazon. Most of them have had some kind of plastic smell or taste after they get hot. On some it goes away, comes back, goes away again. The smell and taste of plastic can't be good for your health, especially if you are ingesting some of the plastic chemicals in the water you drink from the kettle. So this time I decided to NOT buy a glass kettle because they all seem to have plastic somewhere. This CookTron has only stainless steel inside. As far as I can see, the only thing that touches the water is metal. The hinges are plastic, but the lid seals shut with only stainless touching the boiling chamber; the hinges are outside of the chamber. From the first use I was impressed with this kettle. There is absolutely no smell or taste of plastic. The only scent I get is of water and metal. The tea I've made using this tastes great.Boiling takes about the same time as other kettles; maybe a little faster? It's hard to say. I can tell you a few other big differences though: This kettle is double walled and the outside never gets more than just "warm". There is nearly zero risk of being burned by the body of the kettle. Because of this double wall construction, the water inside stays warm for much longer also. The switch to turn the kettle on and off is large and easy to use. It's got an orange light in it so it's pretty obvious when it's on. After boiling it shuts itself off. That can take 20 seconds or so after boiling. It seems a little less sensitive than I would like, but it always turns off so it's not a problem. The opening is large and fairly easy to clean. I cleaned mine out before first use, using a brush, water and dish soap. It was pretty easy. I'm surprised that the outside, which is made of shiny plastic, does not seem to be constantly covered in fingerprints. It looks clean all the time. This far and away the best kettle I have bought here. I HIGHLY recommend this product.

Stainless Steel, Heats Water In a Timely, and VERY Quite: Its The Best!
I miss watching the water boil in colored light while the room is dark, but that's all I miss about my glass tea kettle. I bought a beautiful electric glass tea kettle, it was white plastic, had clear glass, and a green light around the heating element; while I was washing it, it hit the steel faucet and shattered like those blue and white Corell dishes my aunt used to have back in the day... cleaning up the broken glass was a pain, and in the end I had to use my vacuum cleaner to ensure all the tiniest bits of glass was swept away, so when I was shopping for a new one I was the plastic ones, and then I ran across this beauty. The fact that it was stainless steel appealed to me more than plastic, but the price was a lot higher... and then I saw a "used like new" option on a black one that less expensive than some of the newer plastic kettles, and I bought it. Let me tell you that while I'm happy I got a deal, this kettle is absolutely worth the 30 dollars they were charging... especially if you consider that the stainless steel will last much longer than glass or plastic, buy it, you'll probably love yours as much as I do.Let me
