Looking forward to seeing a visual of this book…
The reason for my speedy read of this book comes at the heel of reading something and pop culture. Boilers be damned I will say that this will become a Amazon prime series. That being said it’s the reason anyone needs to read this book. If you like romance and a little bit of intrigue then this book is for you. The only reason I know it is becoming a series is because an actor has left Chicago fire to start the filming to be one of the characters in the TV adaptation that it’s going to be on Amazon prime in the near future. I hope it's OK for me to say this but I’m looking forward to the visual adaptation of this book I only knew because I follow everything Chicago. Carley reads this I hope it’s OK that I shared this in my review I’m wanting to read the book about Charlie but I don’t know if it’s out yet. I'm just think I'm gonna share this with my friend who loves to read books too. It kind of reminds me of we were liars and the way that it’s set up not the story per se but going back-and-forth between present and past thank you Carly for forgiving me a book that may be took a day and a half two days I hope it’s OK that I shared that bit of news if you look on the World Wide Web it’s already public so it’s not that I’m giving a spoiler. I'm simply giving a reason to read the book. Getting lost in a book is a very good thing. And it was very easy to do so with this. That being said is there ever a mistake you wish you could take back? I have too many maybe one day you’ll see them in print. Happy reading and eventually have you watching God bless.

Sam + Percy 💕
Every Summer After is a perfect summer read and although it had been in my TBR for so long, I really enjoyed it. I’m a sucker for second chance romance and childhood friends to lovers and I was captivated immediately. Their friendship blossomed into a cute young love romance until one impulsive decision during a vulnerable moment lead to the downfall of Sam & Percy’s relationship. Now over a decade later, Percy makes the trip back to the lake to attend a funeral and memories flood back of her summers with Sam. But does time heal all wounds? Read to find out.I really love young love romances because they are innocent with heighten emotions, personal growths and can be extremely messy. Not to mention the angst that keeps me wanting to read more and this book definitely kept me engaged.

Fall for Sam and Percy in this Almost Perfect Summer Read
What happens when you meet The One at age 13? This sweet book takes the route that they're sensible, have all the time in the world, & both have goals. They only have summers & a holiday together so they rely on email & phone calls. Their emotions, mistakes, miscommunications, dating others ring true as they grow through their teens until college. Their relationship exists completely in a bubble in a small resort town w/essentially non-existent parents & they do nothing w/o each other so readers see the couple under a microscope. Without ground rules for attending 2 different colleges, things blow up.There’s a great deal to like in this - the couple, the specificity of their friendship, the writing, and the setting - Canadian woodsy resorts were off my radar. Sam, his brother Charlie, & his mom make a very warm family comprised of three well-developed characters. Percy emotionally remains 18 until she & Sam make peace. The alternating Then/Now format didn't bother me. I rooted for them. I re-read the book! This Deluxe edition has a bonus chapter that provides the satisfying ending the couple and the readers deserve. After following the bond formed between 13-18, a 12 year estrangement, & a reunion, a clear resolution was required. We get it. Even better, the sequel, One Golden Summer, about Charlie is the best beach book of 2025. Maybe the best book.

The perfect summer romance in a beautiful setting!
I give this book 4.75 stars rounded up to five for the purposes of this review. I really liked this story and flew through! Anyone looking for a great summer romance can find it here. This was my first Carley Fortune book, but I’d like to read more (and plan to read the sequel to this one very soon). It was so fun to experience Percy and Sam’s relationship as it developed from close friends at the age of thirteen to something much more as they got older. Their relationship was so deep and respectful. They knew everything about each other and shared so many wonderful experiences together. It felt like a very natural evolution from friendship to romance (although I did want to smack Sam a couple times, but he was young, so I’ll give him a pass). And the setting of Barry’s Bay was a beautiful, relaxing place. I wish I could live in a cabin on that lake! There were some great side characters in this book too. Sue was such a kind, loving person. Charlie was sometimes difficult to like, but he really wasn’t a bad person. Delilah definitely annoyed me at times, but she turned out to be such a good friend to Percy. I wish we’d gotten a little bit more of Chantal, because she also seemed like an amazing friend.I don’t always like a miscommunication trope in terms of breakups in romances, but this one actually made sense, because Percy and Sam were so young and trying to figure themselves out, as well as their romantic relationship. So, that part of it didn’t turn me off the overall story. I loved the ending (it made me cry), although I wish Sue’s storyline could have been different. In my opinion, this was the perfect summer romance, so if that’s what you’re looking for, I would definitely encourage you to read it!
