Q: can the music be turned off manually by it self or does the manual function only turn off the cuckoo and the music

The clock has a light sensor, if the room gets dark, the cuckoo will not call. If it is bright, the cuckoo will call.

Q: Does it have to be wound or does it work by the batteries?

It is a quartz clock and works with batteries.

Q: The cuckoo speaks 4 times at 0800. How can I synchronize the the cuckoo and the time?

Pull the hour hand forward until it is loose. Slowly move the minute hand forward. As soon you hear the clock beginning to chime, immediately stop moving the Hand, and count how many times the cuckoo calls, move the hour hand on that hour and push it a Little bit towards the clock's face.
