Tyco Terra Climber Radio Control Vehicle

My son wanted this so bad. He opened it and we took it to the local park. It climbed the stairs and went down the slide, crawled over cement parking dividers, and was lots of fun. However as other reviews said, it was scratched up after a few hours. I don't think this should be an issue. Its a tough toy. Its meant for rough use. If you want something that will look shiny and new, this isn't it. Want a toy thsts different and can go through tons of rough use? This is it. It doesn't seem like it will break. I'll post under this if it dies. It just wont look pretty after use as little as 2 hours, there are scrapes and marks. I do wish a little faster.

I saw an ad for this a while back and was looking for something I could use my nice 9.6V packs on (from an older broken car). This fit the bill nicely and you aren't stuck with something that won't ever work again due to internal unchangeable battery 5 yrs from now.My kids use MY R/C toy from 25 years ago!This is a pretty big vehicle and fairly loud indoors, so be warned. It does a good job climbing and can also drive pretty fast in normal Forward or Backward (non-stepping) mode. It can turn really fast by using Forward/Backward on right/left side.Has great battery life, esp if you pick up a good battery. The one they have sucks... 800mAh is good for a AAA, not a AA... 2000mAh is more like it, though you may need to let the motor rest a bit.The toy seems to have plenty of power. Though it does like to Beep at me, even with a full charged battery which is odd.

Fun toy for outside, climbs great. Not great for inside, the legs make to much racket moving. Only negative is that you much keep away from any water which for an outdoor toy I would of hoped it would be more water proof. My son tried to roll it across a tiny stream (more like a trickle of water) but because it sits so low to the ground it got water in it and stopped working immediately. Luckily we took it right home and dried it out in front of the fireplace and it started working again.

This thing is super cool. This was one of two things my four year old son begged for leading up to Christmas. It's large and sturdy. It climbed an entire flight of carpeted stairs. It's very rugged and tough. Assembly was easy, just had to pop in the tail and batteries into the remote. The battery in the climber is rechargeable, which I love. There is an indicator light on the charger so you know when the battery is full and ready to go. It was fully charged in less than an hour out of the box so he got to play pretty quickly.

So my kids saw these on TV and went bananas. Then they told Santa about them. They didn't have the best reviews while researching, but they told Santa!Turns out, they're bad-ass. They crawl over EVERYTHING. Stairs, trash, people, grass, dirt, whatever. They're amazing, have a long battery life, and pretty fun to drive - and this is coming from a 38 year old man.

Awesome toy. Gave 3 stars because of the charging system. You have to unscrew the panel each time you recharge it and when you disconnect the charger, it's hard not to pull it by the wires because the space is too small to get your fingers in. It works great outside going over wood piles, rocks, etc. Not so great inside because it's so big. If you have carpeted stairs maybe ok but not wood. All in all a fun toy. Expensive. I bought a second one on clearance at Walmart for 30 bucks.

The media could not be loaded. Thing is a beast with obstacles and seems well made. Watch out when it flips over since that tail is at perfect height to scratch a little kids face.[Update]Too fun for four stars. My son treats it like it is alive. Moves around like an animal, can eat any obstacle, and that tail I warned about before has caused no owies despite my attempts to use it as a stinger.

One entire arm broke off after less than 5 minutes of indoor use on carpet. My son ran it over me one time while I was laying down. Now I am stuck with a product that won't fit back in the box to return because the tail can not be taken off once attached. FAIL.
