Great stuff - use as directed
Product arrived quickly as per usual Amazon shipping. My plan was to use this to fix some rust on the inside of my trucks tailgate. Stripped the rust down to bare metal, primed and used a paint brush to apply product. It has some texture, and since the bottom outside of my tailgate also had some rust showing, i sanded down the bottom quarter, that matches theblack trim on my FX4. For the flat part, I tried a small roller, but that really brought up the texture, so smoothed out as best as possible with the brush. After 3-4 days of drying, the product looks great, and looks like it seals up tight.I also had some smaller paint chips coming off the outside of the doors, so I masked a straight line and prepped both doors and jams and applied the coating to those. Looks great & adds some stone chip protection too. Since my truck is a two tone with a dark grey bottom, it is not as noticeable if I tried to use in on a lighter color. I'm planning on purchasing the gallon size next, and finish my truck bed, but will probably use a roller, and a spray can to finish off the tough to reach areas. It seems to be thinner than expected when first applied, but using a second coat really builds up the thickness. I also cleaned up my trailer hitch with a light sanding, and applied to that. It makes it look brand new! Prep the surface per instructions, and use a paint brush for smaller areas. Very happy with this product

Great for back yard do it your-selfer
This is a Ready To Use product - do not thin or tint. Use a quality solvent (Toluene) resistant foam roller to apply or their Rust-Oleum Truck Bed applicator kit. One quart can covers 35-40 square feet on a smooth surface. You need two coats of product applied 2 hours apart for best results. Let dry for 24 hours before using surface such as in a truck bed or allowing rain/fog to contact it. Ambient temp must be greater then 55 degrees F (13 degrees C) and relative humidity less then 85% for application in a well ventilated space or outdoors. Stir throughly before application. I put this on the top of a new trailer roof, it is clean metal and needed no prep work to clean off grease, dirt and or roughing a painted surface. The product sticks to almost anything that you put it to. If there is rust present, they first want primer on it after you clean it down to metal. Technically you could use a spray gun to make application but the spray gun would have to take the product without thinning it down and you would need to practice with it before using it on your situation. The roller is the way to go, in small difficult areas a paint brush.

IMPORTANT: TAKES **MULTIPLE DAYS** TO CURE
I used this stuff to paint the outside of a custom subwoofer enclosure I made for the trunk of my Audi hatchback. I wanted something that was durable enough to stand up to abuse from all my outdoors gear going in and out of the trunk, and boy did this deliver. It took about 4 coats to get the "textured" finish you usually see out of bed liner, but I got it! Smooth, like others have said, and not rough like Rhino. There is some gunky stuff in the can that actually clumps together to form the texture, so it is CRUCIAL that you shake the can up before you use it, and shake it well. Both my cans had all the gunk condensed at the bottom, and I had to re-seal them and shake to get it mixed properly. So why 4 stars?THIS. STUFF. STINKS.Lord have mercy, get ready to be gassed to death. I painted outside in the breeze, and it was definitely woozy work after about 40 mins. Even better, when it is curing, the scent lingers forever - and the curing process for me was around 7 days after the final coat was applied (humid PNW in April). During the curing process, near ANYHTING (including fingers) will mar the surface and cause the lining to scrape off or ruffle up. Plan for moving before starting paining (I made a stretcher thing out of 2x4's to take it from yard to garage).I recommend applying this stuff with a brush, as rollers cannot pick up the texturizing gunk properly, or layer it effectively. After multiple coats, one of those plastic texture rollers could be used to add more finish, but I found myself pleased with the brush-stroke look. Be sure to buy a throwaway brush to apply this, though - it is impossible to get this crap out of a brush afterwards. It completely ruined the brush I used despite all my efforts to save it. RIP Brushy Brush.Patience is key. I waited 30 mins between each of 3 coats and one day before the 4th.Happy lining!P.S. The sub sounds incredible XD

Scratch resistant
For those of you looking for a strong plastic like Bedliner paint that won’t scratch off easy, this is it. Not a rubber type with rubber chunks. I use this for coating gas tanks, frames or even body panels. Warning there is multiple versions of this. The grayish label or black are junk. I recently tried coating Jeep frame and it very easily scratches off. This red label version is the best but expensive only finding in a quart for $36!!! Relatively smooth finish with some texture. Not a fan of bedliner finish on body panels. Great product though. Have been using this stuff for more then 10 years now. Only thing I can find that’s actually durable.
