excellent communications and resolution
I bought this item through Amazon from the 'Get 'n Go' company... it arrived very soon and in working order... it set up easily and worked great for my purposes.. it was sturdy and surprising well made... however, after a few weeks i had a problem with the on/off/volume switch located on one of the 'phones... it just simply stopped working properly - wouldn't turn off and on and lost volume control although the system remained in the on position so by taking out one of the batteries i could turn off the headphones... I informed both the 'Get n' Go' and Amazon people and within 24 hours i received a very professional email from both and very soon after i was credited back my purchase amount including the shipping... I thought this was going to be a lost cause but was pleasantly surprised at how easily it was to work with both Amazon and Get 'n Go... I wouldn't hesitate to do business with them again... Things sometimes do happen when one purchases a product but when you are treated as a valuable customer when things go wrong, that is worth more than any product!! Thanks again to both Amazon and Get n' Go for making what could have been a miserable experience into an easily resolved situation...

So about that
I bought these to use on a TV dedicated to gaming. There is no cable box for this TV, just the consoles, and that is the problem. After following the instructions given through the reviews I've found that these work awesome in the living room when hooked up to the box. No problem setting up and sounds just fine. However, I don't need a wireless headset for that TV. I just wanted one headset to hook up to the game TV and use when it's nearing o'dark hundred and everyone else is sleeping. Sure, I could buy headsets for each console but my bank account is kinda strained so I was hoping one that goes straight to the TV would eliminate that expense. They don't work in the audio out jacks of my TV, or any other ones back there. Changing the source for audio in the TV doesn't change this. Muting and unmuting does not change this. All I get is a static filled channel where the TV audio should be and then all the radio stations. Nothing else. I'm not hooking up a cable box to the gaming TV, and adding a DVD/VCR player to the mix of cables and consoles is not an option without causing structural damage to the floor under it.So, yeah. When they work, they work great. After following the instructions exactly. Unfortunately, when they don't work, they really don't work. These are just not the solution that I was hoping they could be. Might make a good gift to my parents who need the TV cranked up to 100 though.

Use Your Own Headphones Instead. Here's Why...
The transmitter that sits by your TV is great but the headphones are not very good. Here's what I did to make it much better and why it works. The transmitter simply sends out an FM radio signal just like your local radio station; so it can be picked up by any radio within the 100 feet range. The people that are complaining about the line of sight problem is most likely because they are using the headphones that came in the box, and they are not very good.I simply purchased a cheap $10 pocket radio and plugged my favorite pair of headphones into it. It gets much better reception then the radio headphones that came in the box. To set it up, first follow the included instructions that tell you to turn on the transmitter then press the reset button then the scan button, both buttons are on the included headphones. This will set it up so it's transmitting on an FM frequency that's not being used by a local radio station. Now just keep changing the station on your extra pocket radio until you find the one that matches the TV show you are watching. Mine was set to 88.3 FM. The sound quality on my favorite headphones is much better then the pair that comes in the box. It's like having a surround sound system that you can turn up to any volume you want and not bother anyone else. I even use them with a vacuum cleaner running in the same room and can hear the TV just fine. This is a great buy for the price, if you use them with your own headphones.

The price is accurate to the quality.
I'm so glad I bought these. Now my husband can watch the morning news and I can read my Bible in peace. They also act as a hearing aid since he's kind of deaf mostly. The downside is that these are kind of fuzzy sometimes, like when a radio isn't coming in clearly. And he's only using them like 10 feet away from the transmitter. Sometimes it's hard to get the right channel when you first turn them on too. Even when you walk right up to the transmitter and put your head up near it to where its practically touching the headphones. The other thing is that the on/off switch doesn't work. It works for volume, but there is no point at which it goes from being low volume to clicking into an off position. So he just takes the batteries out and puts them back in all the time. This probably saves battery life anyway.Overall I think these are a really handy item to have. They're not perfect, but they get the job done.
