region clarification region free
Just to avoid confusion the Star Trek original series blu ray box set pictured in the blue box plays in the UK.I have just tested it in a UK version Playstation 5 and it looks super nice. It contains both the as aired special effects and the updated special effects version. I did read that the recent updated special effects versions had deleted dialogue ( possibly updated political correctness?) so you may want to play the original blu ray versions, or toggle between the two. So this should play in certainly Region B ( UK Europe) and maybe other regions

Awful case not suitable for number of discs
Referring to the blue sleeved blu-ray edition. The discs are held inside with spindles, the standard DVD / CD ones but are each used for multiple discs, stacked higher than the spindle can reliably hold. Inevitably in transit several of the disks came off the holders and were just loose inside the box having also scraped against a broken sharp spindle marking and scratching the discs. I would advise a transfer immediately to replacement sleeves / wallets as this packaging is just not fit for purpose. Also disappointing for such an expensive product to have no booklet, series guide, imagery etc, I feel I've picked the wrong edition when looking at the other more vibrant one. You get the discs (playable if you're lucky) hence 3 stars as content will be great but nothing else and instead of an enjoyable quality item I'm having to port the disks elsewhere in cases suited to the task. What were they thinking?

Broken boxes.
Got the metal box set for my other half for his birthday and two of the three metal boxes where broken. He really wants the blu rays so we are going to watch them all and check if there are any damage to the discs themselves.Really disappointed as the outer box/packaging was not damaged , so clearly was broken before shipped.

Better descriptions, or stop mixing reviews.
Obviously, Star Trek itself is a five star show, but I bought this set after searching for a release that shows the original special effects._It does not have the original effects as an option_ . In fact it is a more expensive and worse packaged verson of the individual seasons' released separately. The box is horrendous and does not hold the discs properly, meaning that at least one falls out every time you open it.I searched all the listed items, looking for the set that has both sets of effects. The new effects are beautiful and done with care, but it would be nice to be reminded of how we first saw them, with the painted basket ball planets, matt lines, non-blinking Gorns and all. Most of the descriptions of various box sets tell us little more than a synopsis of the show, the region and episode list. So I searched the reviews as well. That's how I ended up with this set. But I had forgotten that Amazon likes to lump all reviews for a film or TV show together no matter which issue of DVD or Blu-ray it is. So now I have to mess about trying to return this set.

Wish I could watch it.
Sadly bought in November and sat on shelf whilst completing Deep Space Nine watch. When put in DVD player tells me not playable in my region. Box has small message on back saying made in Germany but packaged in USA. Misleading and gone past time to return and get viable replacement.

Poor packing broken, discs all over the box
Very poor design for holding discs in the box arrived broken and very disappointing after spending £51.00 .It’s already in pieces so how long it will be before it all falls apart I dread to think,
