Nite Ize Original Steelie HobKnob Kit For Tablets - Magnetic Tablet Handle + Stand

Ok,Let me state that I had some trepidation in ordering this item. The reason I say as much is because I'm using it with a Samsung Tab A with Stylus.As stated by other reviewers it will create a dead spot using the stylus, however there is a workaround (at least for me).I figured that if I could shield the screen from excess magnetism, then it should be okay.I'm using my tablet in a work environment and so I needed maximum protection. So I placed it in a case.Then I purchased the following:MDW Replacement Metal Plate Kit with Adhesive for Universal Car Magnetic Mount (4 Rectangle and 2 Round)and began experimenting.I started with just one rectangle and attached the magnetic button to it prior to sticking it to anything.Placing it in the middle of the case, I opened up a note and began drawing, paying close attention to the magnet placement.Crap, It left a dead zone in the vicinity of the magnet. Hmm, what if I used 2 plates? I added a second plate by just placing it beside the other one.I repeated my prior experiment. I drew lines up, down across and over the area where the magnet sat on the back of the case.The result? NO BLANK SPOT! At this point I removed the magnet and used the adhesive on the plate to stick it to the first one.Once that was completed I removed the back of the case and stuck the now bonded plates to inside of the case, not the back of the tablet.No reason, just didn't want to stick the plate to the tablet although you could if so desired.Okay, it worked in practice, now how about in a real world application? I reassembled everything and ran my test the third time. I made a grid, circles, used the large marker like function of the stylus to see if there were any areas that had interference, and had absolutely no issues. All worked perfectly.The case I'm using is a:Galaxy Tab A 9.7 Case, SUPCASE Unicorn Beetle PRO Series Full-body Hybrid Protective Case with Screen Protector for Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 [SM-T550] Dual Layer Design+Impact Resistant Bumper (Black/Black)The plates fit in without a hitch as their total thickness is slightly less than a dime but provides enough shielding when doubled up.I love this kit as it suited me for simplicity and other items you can add if desired. It holds my tablet well in the case and fits my hand also..

I bought this to replace the pop socket I had been using as a handle on my tab S2 9.7. The pop sockets work perfectly with my phones but they didn't work well when it came to my tab s2 9.7. The adhesive kept peeling back and the socket even came free of my tablet a few times. When I received hobknob I followed the instructions closely, checked and double checked the adhesive on the magnet, then finally attached the handle. All I can say is wow!! This thing is so strong I can carry my tablet with keyboard attached with zero concern of it detaching. It's kinda spendy, but if you're in the market for this type of thing it's well worth the 25 bucks. Highly recommended!!

Very nice product. However, the blue rubber ball fell off. Will be applying Gorilla Glue to attach it again.

I just bought my 3rd one of these. I have them everywhere - home, purse and office. I put one of the magnetics on my tablet, one on my gps and one on my phone. I should be a rep for this company. I can't even count the times I've been asked about this product. I also have the car mount. I use it with my tablet, phone and gps. I have this product's info on my tablet because I got tired of people asking me how to buy one. Now, I just show them the picture and send them to Amazon. If you get a chance, check out a video of this - I use the magnetic on the back of my tablet for a lot of things. Put my tablet on the door of my SS refrig., so my grocery list is up front and center. When shopping, I can position my tablet on the shopping cart rail - there's my shopping list again (front & center) I could go on & on, but I think you get the picture. One word of advice, these work great on ssd drives, don't use them on the hard drives that are in the older model Ipods (drives with moving parts). It will fry them.

My issue has nothing to do with the seller, more to do with the manufacturer. The blue rubber portion of the handle wasn't attached (see pics). You'd think a company that relies heavily on adhesives, would have this under control.I love the idea! The aluminum piece is really nice! The rubber/plastic bummer piece will be very soft and nice to use once it's super-glued back on.The only reason it's 3 stars not 5 is the part that fell out of package while opening. That part is a big deal. I'll have to super glue it back on now...

while looking for only device I was aware of for mounting to car (the magnetic car mount for cell phone)I only saw the words "Steelie" and "HobKnob kit" the rest of the writing was too small to read so bought it quickly as in a rush to leave for a meeting.Only when it came I realised it was for leaning an Ipad which I dont own and so dint twig with the picture on the box.The words "For Ipad" probably should be on the box as big as Steelie and HobKnob since neither of those words mean anything related to what it is actually for!

Nite-ize has some really great products. Love ‘em all! The 3M adhesive doesn’t like to stick to the silicone cases sold for the iPad Pro at the Apple store. Good old epoxy works fine for situations like this. Haven’t had any other problems with the included 3M adhesive on any other surface.

The quality if very good and it keeps a firm grip on your device, but the cold metal is hard and very uncomfortable to hold.
