How is the in-built mic? Does it pick up your voice well? What kind of range. Of course i'm not expecting it to work from your pocket...

The in-built microphone sounds excellent for your call partner but of course it means that you have your headphones on and Go blu is attached to them and you hold it in your hand if you are on the move or it is on your desk if you are sitting.

I’ve read comments in online reviews that the volume max’s out quite low due to Bluetooth and power delivery, is this true or is the volume level ok.

I use IEMs mostly and this seems to deliver similar power as the Fiio BTR5 and ES100, both of which are regarded as powerful portable DAC/amps. IEMs plugged into the 3.5mm SE socket are very loud around 30% volume. Obviously, if you use high impedance, low sensitivity headphones with something like this you may not be able to achieve the same performance as a full size desktop hifi stack. If someone chooses to use devices like this to run a Susvara or 1266 and can't get the volume they want, that isn't a failure of the device, it is a failure of the user's brain. It is always a good idea to have the right tool for the job.

Will it work with b&w p7 wireless headphones

No - it links via Bluetooth to the source (such as your phone) but not to your headphones - these need to be wired and plugged into the device
