We live in rural dallas TX which makes acquiring international foods more challenging. It was nice to be able to find this and other products through Amazon. I am SO EXCITED to be able to order this online and enjoy my Korean food again!I have tried soybean paste from several other brands, but they were all very salty. This one is just right with very clean ingredients!!Flavor profile may be a bit odd to those unfamiliar, but this is some good stuff.If you are not Korean and like to experiment Ew favors, this is an excellent starting point. I used it for soups You can also use this as one part of homemade ssamjang sauce I like it especially for veggies.Much Better than Japanese Miso. Definitely will buy it again!

I cook a lot of Korean food and I love this product and brand. Funky, like Rich James in a jar. You’ll enjoy it and will be able to take it home to mother too.

This was my first time buying and using this product. I have nothing to compare it to and have no idea what it is supposed to taste like. Let me tell ya, this is one anchovy intense sauce. I love anchovies but this is from another planet. It makes Red Boat fish sauce seem like water. We used the amount called for in the recipe and it ruined the fish. If this is your first time too, just use a little! All ingredients you know and no chemicals. Packaged with tons of bubble wrap with no leaks. If I ever get brave enough to try this again, I'll let you know how it went :)

This is great deonjang with very good ingredients.I strongly recommend.

I usually buy soybean paste for the soybean flavor to enrich other ingredients during woking. This does not provide much soybean taste unfortunately.

First of all, the luxurious package of this deonjang made me so excited!As a Korean immigrant, I always want to have a good doenjang soup in U.S. However other doenjang sauces from markets in US were hard to make me satisfied. But this doenjang is the first one that I could feel the real taste of Korea!!!It tastes so rich and savory. Even my husband who normally doesn’t like doenjang soup finished and liked my doenjang soup this time!!! If you want to try an authentic doenjang, try it this one :)

Is purchased this as it advertised as being "better" than the more generic or factory made doenjang. This paste has a more earthy or musty taste to it with an awful finish. Towards the bottom of the pot and bowl the earthy taste became almost that of dirt.
