wow! just wow! bravo
The story was so well put out from the beginning mill and end all I have to say is Shantel take your bow because this was phenomenal. I have fallen in love with Cole and Austin. I mean it is so rich. The storytelling is on point. It is absolutely phenomenal. You did amazing with this. Thank you so so very much, this was so beautiful. A couple of pages nearly brought me to tears. I mean this right here is pure love like this them. They are pure genuine endgame love not gonna lie. You had me a bit at the end like I was hoping and praying like oh my God, please don’t tell me died but no, she did it and that was so sweet knowing that they got to have the happily ever after that they so rightfully deserve the way they got to get married and have a family like oh my God absolutely beautiful. It was so sweet and so amazing. I give this a 10 out of 10.🥹🙏🏼👏🏼❤️

Shantel is always a good choice
I generally always enjoy Shantel’s work, it’s always written perfectly to my standards, always has a lil mystery going on, and the spice is usually on point. This book, however, I give 3.5 stars. The reason being is due to a few categories:Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ a lot of the scenes would start, and then move on to the story. Which is fine, every once in a while, what’s a girl gotta do for some full length scenes?!? (At least more than what was in this book)Story line: 📕📕📕 the story line was your run of the mill “I’m the devil because I’m a heartless brooding guy and I’m going to destroy her” trope, but I did enjoy that the FMC was throwing the MMCs BS right back at him. I like my FMCs with some moxie.Characters: 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ again, the trope, but also there wasn’t much character building, which makes sense considering it’s a high school story. My biggest, albeit picky, qualm was the REPETITION. Oh. My. God. Every character “fisted” their hands about 100 times to display anger in this book and it got to the point where it drove me nuts and made me maniacally laugh to myself every time. Some would say, it made me fist my hands…In the end, it was good for what it was, I just found myself kind of wanting it to be over around the 70% through mark, but I am loyal to Shantel and wanted to finish. The ending was worth the surprise, so she gained half a brownie point for that.I dare you to read this book and count how many times “fisting of hands” is mentioned. 😏

Dark and seductive
Wow, I have to say this book snatched me up in the beginning and never let me go. This is a stand-alone, dark romance. The main characters are seniors in high school but they are welllll beyond their years. Important thing to note before reading: DARK romance. The main male character is no angel, he’s an a$$.... and I should probably wonder what that says about me that I loved him, but my point is that if you are expecting a happy go lucky romance, don’t read the book and then give it a bad review because the characters aren’t perfect. It’s a dark romance for a reason!!Anyways, our book is about a girl sent to love with her father and witnesses something she shouldn’t have. She’s then thrown to the sharks and brought into their world of “dares” and taking justice/revenge into their own hands. I loved the female lead, Austin. She was just the right amount of fierce and pushover lol she fought back for sure, there was a couple of times where I ended up with an evil smile on my face sooo proud of her actions. And of course there were times that I wish she would have worked harder to get her questions answered. Girls been through the ringer in her life, she definitely got the crap end of the stick when it comes to parents. Cole wants to break her, but he doesn’t know that she’s already broken. She’s his equal in every way. I loved watching him fight and slowly realize his feelings for her. This was definitely instant attraction, but definitely not insta love. What started out as a game, ended up becoming a true soul deep love.I do wish the author would have told us why Cole did what he did when it comes to an accident that happened six months before Austin moves to town (don’t want to give too much away). I don’t know if I missed it, but I never found out why he lied about what happened. It doesn’t ruin the story for me, but I would have liked to know lolOverall, I thought this was an excellent dark romance. tons of emotions, and a believable plot. Great writing style. I can’t wait to read dekes book next!

4.5 daring stars!
This was a good story by Shantel Tessier! I’ve only read one? Maybe two? of her books before and they are both more recent ones. It’s nice to see some of her earlier work that I CAN read no matter what my emotional state is! The Lords series had been on my back burner for a long time while awaiting my psyche to balance out! 😂 This is child’s play in comparison and a really good started bully book for new to the genre readers! Super fun! These characters were in high school and you could tell. Nothing too graphic “on screen” a lot implied but still given enough detail to put two and two together. All in all a fun read that kept my attention. I’m thinking about reading the next book now…

Great first book for an intro to dark romance
Loved it!! Little sad that the spice is almost nonexistent but it was such a good story that I didn’t even miss it. GWS are now my obsession and I’ll be starting book 2 asap! 1/🌶️

Bloody amazing!
"I dare you" is the first bully romance I've ever read. I didn't think I would love it so much. In fact, I didn't know what to expect, but with that cover I could not read it... (have you seen it? It's freaking gorgeous!) It's a turn pager that has you in the edge of your seat! I'm loving Cole, in spite all the coldness and the blood... who would have thought?

I Dare You - Shantel Tessier
TEN STARS!!! 🌟🤩What can I say other than holy h€ll!!!This is by far, in my opinion, Shantel’s best work to-date and that’s me that loves her previous novels! And is a complete change in the type of writing. This book is dark in parts and quite angsty. A total rollercoaster ride and definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat. The story surrounds Cole and his closest friends, aka GWS = Great White Sharks, not only are they all on the swim team, but all are as deadly as their namesakes.Austin, a girl who’s had a pretty cr@p hand dealt to her, as far as parents go and abuse she’s had to suffer, unwanted, she is passed off to her Father - her Mother’s aim, to get more money out of him! Yet her Father’s aim is to ship her back as soon as possible, even knowing what he would be sending her back to - he’s a nasty, evil man!Cole, sees an opportunity to get one over on his enemy and have a bit of fun in the process by using Austin, but h€ll, was he NOT expecting what he got with her!His ‘crew’ draw dares which they must complete or face a consequence - but where does Austin fit into this?!Austin is a kick-a$$ survivor and doesn’t scare easily, giving back two-fold what is dished out to her!The love/hate relationship that develops between Cole & Austin, keeps us guessing all the way through and to top it off, Cole has so many secrets and likes to play his mind games, so you don’t actually know how he actually feels towards Austin - is it all one of his games to try and get her? That said they have amazing chemistry and it gets hot! 🔥This is a dark, twisted ride and you will need to buckle-up to stay safe. I DARE YOU to read this book... I guarantee you’ll not be disappointed.I hope Shantel will consider following this up, with Deke’s story🤞🏻I voluntarily Reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book, but still bought the book as well, it’s THAT good!!!
