Works as well as the brand name equivalent.
I plugged it and it worked as expected. I was glad to know that this worked perfectly with my Rebel ti2 camera.

Don't Do It !
I see that there were others that had problems of a similar kind. I was skeptical because it was so cheap, but I got it anyway based on a lot of good reviews as well. I have a Canon EOS T5 camera it worked fine for two times I used it. The third time I used it the remote would trip the shutter on it own, perhaps one frame, or another time it would shoot many frames continuously. After working the remote button a few times, it would stop and work ok. I had to be extremely careful so that I didn't touch the remote button. Now, I can't trust this device. I bought this cable shutter remote in March of this year, so I was not one of those people that thought it was a good product. It would not be worth returning it since It would cost me more money to send it backNo I would not recommend this product to a friend or anyone!

Can't beat the price
Lets be honest you get what you pay for. That being said this shutter release works just fine for my application. Really simple but cannot beat the price allows you to save your money for i portant things like lenses and gear.

Great remote, disappointing bag.
I really like this remote - I recently used it on my Canon EOS T3 to photograph fireworks. I wish the cord was longer. I tried looking for an extension, but the longest available for a 2.5 mm connection was only 10 feet. Instead I bought an extension with 3.5 mm connections and bought two adapters. The bag was disappointing. It is shorter than the remote and it takes work to cram the cord into it.

Great for long exposures
This is great. Very short cord so you can't use this to include yourself in pictures but I bought it for taking pictures with a telephoto lens in low light conditions and this is a must have for that since even on a tripod the act of pressing the shutter button can shake the camera but with this wired remote you can take the picture without disturbing the camera for longer exposures. Does everything the Canon equivalent part does.

Inexpensive and works as it should.
Inexpensive and works as it should. At 36" the cord length is just right. No more fuzzy out of focus photos from me shaking the camera. When not is use it takes up just tiny amount of space in my camera bag. What I really like is that it works without having to have batteries, it uses the camera's internal battery for power.

I was very happy with the results
Having set up a microscope, purchased a camera that required a very specific adapter. Unfortunately, the connection between the adapter and the camera was not sufficiently tight enough. This caused camera -shake when taking a photo. I was a little apprehensive when purchasing the wired shutter release because of its low price. I was very happy with the results. I was particularly impressed by the capacity to adapt to different exposures. This was particularly valuable when photographing specimens in low light.

Incredibly easy to use
I'm such a big fan of remotes but my Canon Rebel T5 does is not compatible with my wireless remotes so I had to purchase a wired remote. It makes taking self portraits and profiles so much easier than using self timer (no more running around + being out of focus!). This product is cheaper than the Canon brand name remote and works perfectly with my camera (plugs in on the side of the camera body). My old concern is that the cord itself is not very long, I probably should I read the dimensions a little closer. No problem for closeups of the face, but if you're looking to take photos from the chest/hips and downwards, this will be too short for you.

First Rate Service ...
Originally gave the product three stars as it showed up with the bottom screw loose and couldn't be tightened to keep the unit intact ... I needed it right away so I took it apart and noticed the interior screw post was broken, therefore I replaced with a longer screw ... it held and performed perfectly ... Two days later received an email from the company letting me know a new one was on it's way and no need to return the broken unit ... no hassle, simple straightforward belief in their product ... stellar! ... other company's should take note!

Works great! No issues.
Works great! Used this on a EOS Rebel T5 with zero issues for long exposuresThe button lacks a click noise or feel, however it works every time you depress it all the way, but that is more of a preference issue. There is a very slight clickiness to it, but it is virtually unnoticeable. The lock is nice, you press down, slide it up to lock, and it stays there, as it should. The connections, cable, and remote it self seem pretty durable, though the plastic does feel light. I do prefer this though, as it it reduces strain on the cable when you let go of it for long exposures.
