Kind Of Blue

Kind of Blue by Miles Davis is an absolute classic and one of the most important jazz records ever made. Beyond the music itself, this 180-gram pressing is excellent. The vinyl feels substantial and well made, and the pressing quality is very clean. Surface noise is minimal, with quiet backgrounds that really let the music breathe. The soundstage is wide and natural, with great separation between instruments and a warmth that suits this album perfectly. The dynamics come through beautifully — the horns have body without harshness, the bass is full and controlled, and the cymbals sound smooth and natural. It’s the kind of pressing that encourages you to sit back and listen all the way through. A timeless album paired with a high-quality pressing. La entrega se demoró un poco más de lo inicialmente indicado, probablemente por ser diciembre, pero valió totalmente la pena. Era un regalo de Navidad para mi hijo y quedó muy feliz con el álbum.

Reviews seem to have been combined across different versions, which might be what is creating confusion here. This listing IS for the RSD mono copy (make sure you see that in the title). Either way, when you receive it It'll be very clear on the packaging. If you don't see Mono on the packaging, ask for a replacement! I have a very good stereo copy, but have always wanted this in mono. This version did not disappoint. Though the tape noise is a little louder than my liking, the pressing itself is very quiet and clean. Great clarity, and the mono mix does not feel artificial. Now that I have this, I do not feel like I ever need to acquire another copy. So if you can get this one, you should be satisfied without paying the Mofi price. On a side note, the cover had a giant crease in it, so I'm grabbing another copy. This was certainly due to it being shipped in a loose box without any support, originating from Washington state. I don't experience this issue with the southern Ontario departure points, which always use an appropriate LP box within the shipping box. Make note Amazon! Also, there were no surprise custom fees, unlike what another poster endured. If it says Prime, my experience has always been free shipping with no fees, regardless of the originating warehouse.
