Yes you can leave your phone with the charger on and it charges both at the the same time

Can it charge my iPhone 12 pro max ?

No. This battery case only compatible with iPhone 13 Pro Max, Not for iphone 12 pro max.

How long does it take to get a full charge on the battery?

A couple of hours. I usually separate the phone from the charger at night and charge the case while I sleep. I love my battery case as I can go 24 hours without having to find a place to charge.
