Apple AirPods Pro (1st Generation) with MagSafe Charging Case

Wow, these really exceeded my expectations. I’m usually slow to buy new Apple products because mostly I feel my needs are more than met by the iPhone and MacBook Air I own. But I also find myself frequently fumbling with ugly tangled headphone cables, attaching and detaching (and sometimes losing) the obnoxious “dongle” needed to switch from my iPhone’s lightning jack to my MacBook’s headphone jack, and I find the sound quality on the standard Apple earbuds pretty bad for anything but the most utilitarian listening, e.g. a news podcast or a call to the bank. So I’m pleased to report that my AirPods have already become *incredibly* useful in the first week of use for their ability to connect almost instantly, and with fabulous intuition about when and where to connect, to either my two primary devices, transforming my day’s patchwork of Zoom sessions (I’m a therapist and a yoga teacher), phone calls, audiobooks, podcasts, and music into something much smoother and more flowing. The features, and their usefulness, were what surprised me. When I bought these I had assumed, wrongly, that they would basically be the same as the standard Apple earbuds, but made wireless. On the contrary, the sound here is massively better, a gigantic leap from one end of the quality spectrum to the other, and the sound can be shaped in several useful ways: 1) Noise-Cancelling Mode, which instantly sucks the background noise out so well for a moment you’ll think you’ve gone deaf 2) Transparency Mode, my favorite, which beautifully mixes the original sound source (music, podcast, etc) with the sound of your own breath and the outside world. The levels are perfectly adjusted to give you an amazingly crisp listening experiencing while remaining aware of your surroundings. It’s ideal. If in a dystopian Total Recall scenario a microchip were implanted in my head to play music, this would represent the best possible audio mix. 3) Normal Mode/“Off”, which gives the unmixed, untreated effect of standard headphones, allowing the normal amount of bleed between the sound in the ears and the slightly muffled sound of the outside world. This is the only mode I have no use for, because the other two are such big improvements to me. Turning these features on and off, pausing, or switching between music tracks works very well with the old “pinch the stem” technique that most wireless earbuds use. It’s the Morse Code style, squeeze once for this, squeeze twice for that system, and while it occasionally fails to understand what I want to do, it is much more intuitive and accurate than the few other brands I’ve tried. I’d say it following 3/4 of my commands perfectly, which for me is good enough, and again a vast improvement on other wireless earbuds I’ve tried, which usually suffer horribly in this category. I was a bit worried about this feature due to past negative experiences, but there was nothing to fear. Once again, Apple made the best. My strongest area of constructive critique is the voice quality of a AirPod user as experienced by the listener. The sound is crystal clear, and the volume is well-controlled, but it does sound slightly sterile and thin to my ears. I am a therapist and a yoga teacher and I frequently see clients through Zoom or other streaming video, so I was hopeful that these might also double as a solution for a wireless microphone. But I find the sound of a voice over AirPods in Zoom to be too thin and papery to match the sound of a good or even mid-level wireless mic. They sound best-suited to business purposes to me. Your experience may differ! That said, these are about half the price of an average studio or wireless mic, so this is not a crime, merely a point worth noting for other users. They are also a bit distracting visually for me, as their shape is a little chunky and protruding from the ears, and their milk-white color really pops against the skin. They are by no means huge or ridiculous, you’ll feel fine wearing them, but they are large enough that I am persistently aware of them when I see someone over video talking to me or giving some kind of instruction. It also throws me off slightly because I associate headphones with someone being unable to hear me, rather than as a way to connect with me. This is another reason that a wireless mic or a proper studio mic still has its place. That said, connecting a wireless or studio mic to literally any Apple device requires a bit of technical knowhow, plus a receiver and a collection of cables and connectors to get it to work, and with AirPods you just take them out of the case and that’s it, and you’re connected! Great product. These are the droids you’re looking for.

These AirPods are wonderful. I have had them now for many months and I use them every day, multiple times a day. -They are super easy to initially pair with an iPhone (I have an 8s+). -They immediately pair as soon as I put either AirPod in my ear. No other Bluetooth headphones I’ve tried have come even remotely close to pairing this easily. -You can very easily switch between using one or both AirPods at a time. As soon as you take one AirPod out, it pauses whatever you were listening to. Put the AirPod back in the ear and it will play on its own, or use your thumb and index finger to squeeze the stem on either AirPod to play/pause. -Noise cancellation only works when both AirPods are in (which makes sense). -noise cancellation works so well I can mow the lawn and easily listen to a podcast with a normal level of volume (with my old Bluetooth headphones mowing was not an option because I would have had to blast the volume way too loud. - I love how Siri will tell me if I have an incoming call (and who from) and ask if I want to answer. Same with texts. She’ll say who it’s from, read the text and ask if I want to reply. If the incoming text is too long she’ll say “Bob sent a text with a long message, do you want me to read it?” - I also love that I can have my phone in my pocket and use the microphone built into the AirPods to have a phone conversation. - A few times the left and right earpiece didn’t pair in synch so the sound came through at slightly different times through left and right. Very rare. Simply take both AirPods out and put them in the case and close the lid. Then open the case and put them back in your ears. It’s never happened twice in a row. Again, very rare, takes seconds to fix. -Spatialize Stereo is really cool for listening to music. Really makes the sound feel more like a concert hall. Fixed and Head Tracked options both work great. - I really like the transparency mode, where it amplifies the outside sounds so you can easily have a conversation with someone while leaving your AirPods in your ears. Works remarkably well! Keep in mind this still feels a little rude if your around other people, BUT, sometimes I use this feature if I’m traveling and stopping real quick at a food place or rest stop, or drive through, and may not have my case handy, but I still want to be able to hear and interact with the person serving me. -I love to run and I have run with these many many times. On occasion I’ve had the right ear get a little loose from sweat, but on those occasions I simply push it back into place and it stays in for quite awhile. My left ear never has that problem. I probably have a weird ear canal or something. -I highly recommend these AirPods. Also, get a case. I got a cheap case for $8. Well worth the money because you WILL drop the case at some point.

After owning my air pod pros for nearly two years now I feel that I am qualified to give an accurate and in-depth review over this popular product. I originally bought them due to my right original air pod dying, so naturally since I liked the first once I decided to go onto the next ones. I have used them for all the most common activities that the average headphone user does such as: working out, traveling, studying, and general use to listen to music or podcasts. Considering my time of ownership and widespread use of them I feel that I am qualified to tell you the pros and cons as well as why I think you should pick up your own pair of air pod pros. If you have owned the previous generation of air pods or any other apple product, then you will find that the pros come in the typical apple packaging which keeps the headphones and accessories secure and in good condition upon opening. Out of the box you will have the air pods themselves inside the portable charging case, as well as a usb-c charging cable (an upgrade from the usb-a in the original air pods), instructions, an apple sticker, and a few interchangeable sized silicon ear tips to fit best into your ear. To set them up simply open the case (the air pods will already be partially charged when you get them) and open you iPhone and a button will pop up to connect them. Next apple will take you through a sizing test to get a crisp and comfortable fit in your ear. As mentioned, the pros fit differently than the original air pods which is great for those who found the plastic design didn’t cater to their ears. Now with 3 different sized silicon tips buyers can find a snug personalized fit. The silicon tips also help introduce the new and biggest feature of the pros being Noise cancellation and transparency mode. The noise cancellation works very well when you need to tune out outside noise to focus, study, or are trying to sleep on an airplane. Sometimes I find myself putting them in without playing anything simply to make the surrounding are quieter. The transparency mode conversely also works well to help you hear the surrounding area which is great if your study buddy needs to talk to you, or you want to hear things around you on a run or bike ride. Now that we covered some of the highlights let’s review some of the negative. The sound quality is good, however, if you are a self-proclaimed “audiophile” then they made not be the earbuds for you as there is better quality out there. I found that it lacks some of the base that I personally prefer, but the mids and highs both sound good. Additionally, I found them to be just good and not great for working out. When trying to wear them to run I found that sweat often caused them to fall out and I even lost one in a stream once while running and had to replace it. There are aftermarket tips you can put on them to fight this, but I think something like the Beats powerbeat pros suit an active user needs more with the hook around ear design. Finally, the price for these is a bit steep at $250 although right now they are on sale for $180. Overall, I think that these are the best earbuds on the market right now and worth your money.

I've owned A LOT of Bluetooth wireless headphones and especially earbuds over the last 10 years. Many of them were quite good despite being fairly economical in price and from lesser or no name brands. However most of the true wireless earbuds were just not very good at all except for the Samsung and these. I have to admit, while I was very anti-Apple for a long time and enjoyed my Samsung earbuds for a few years, when they finally broke, I decided to give these a shot and so far I am VERY pleased with the following: Signal: Only rarely cuts out in the gym where EVERYBODY has Bluetooth headphones on, and combined with the local WiFi there's probably a lot of 2.4GHz spectrum noise in the area, but they fair quite well. Battery life: Individual bud battery life so far has been long enough to be at the gym for an hour from 100% charge and leave with something like 80 to 85% charge even after a year. Sound quality: While these are earbuds and so bass will never truly compare to bigger over the ear headphones, they still sound great with great sound balance overall despite their limitation as earbuds. Controls: The touch "clicky" feature of the stems or stalks actually works quite well, and it's easy enough and reliable enough to use that I like it just as much as the equivalent feature the Samsungs I had prior had. Noise Cancelling: Works surprisingly well, quite well actually, probably due to actually being in the ear canal and with the rubber cushion it blocks out an astounding 90% or so of the sound maybe more. This is even more than my Beats over the ear units! Some other things only these earbuds have, is the ability to tell you the charge of each individual earbud, and the case as well. The integrated Siri functionality to read aloud your messages as they come in, or announce an incoming call without even having to look at your phone is REALLY nice and appreciated, you can even supposedly reply back for some added functionality, but I can't seem to get that to work in the noisy environment at the gym which is where I typically use these the most. Also the FindMy location detection, while I've never needed to use it as I don't normally loose my things, must be a life saver for those that do! Very highly recommended, no real complaints other than the fit might not always work for every ear (but that's common to ALL earbud designs), and I have to constantly fiddle with them while at the gym so they don't fall out, and if your ear starts to get sweaty or greasy, they will just fall out that much faster.

I remember when AirPods came out, and I thought, "There's no way that earbuds are worth $200... ever!" And I'm an Apple guy and was at the time. Then I really looked at the features and thought, yeah, that's kinda cool. Then my wife started having hearing problems, and she works with children with autism and does a lot of her work through remote sessions. Hearing the technician over laptop speakers on a video call isn't always easy. They move around a lot and you never know where their mic is pointing, and laptop speakers aren't always loud enough anyway, etc. She also has to get a lot of information down on the fly, so she started using dictation, which meant carrying her iPad around to be near the mic, while picking up all the noise in the room. Along came AirPods Pro. I knew they respond to tap and "pinch" gestures, and I knew they were noise cancelling, but these things are beyond amazing! I took them out of the box, opened the case, and they paired with my MacBook without the slightest glitch. But when I put one in, I couldn't believe it! It was set on noise-cancellation, and the room was DEAD silent in the one ear. I put the other one in and thought I was in a sound booth at a recording studio. Then I looked through the settings and saw the pass-thru mode, which activates with a long-pinch, and you can set the volume from your device. You can also shape the pass-thru sound to be warmer or brighter, so these became hearing aids for my wife. Dictation can be started and stopped with a pinch or voice command (all these things can be customized). She had been having SO much trouble trying to keep up with writing her notes, then transcribing them into the reports. She couldn't carry a laptop around the room and type, and even keeping a phone or tablet in her hand made dictation awkward. These things turned her work life around 180° and practically saved her career... I'm not exaggerating. She can hear everyone else or silence the room, dictate, be hands and wire free, and control everything right from the AirPods Pro, and they sound absolutely KILLER for listening to music as well. They have a microphone that points INTO your ear to determine how your ear canal shapes the sound, then automatically compensate for your own hearing. So, $200 for earbuds? Hell yes! (And I got them not only at a nice sale price through Amazon, but I applied for my Amazon Visa at the same time, was accepted, and got $150 credit for signing up! So basically got these for free. But if I had to pay full price for them, needing what we needed from them, I'd drop the money in a heartbeat. If you don't need so many tricks and features, but still want the amazing sound and noise cancellation, buy one of the other AirPods models. You will not be disappointed!

Overall, I think it's safe to say they exceeded my expectations, by a lot. Setup is super easy.. uses NFC (near field communication) so you just hold the case near your iphone for initial setup. The imaging is surprisingly good. With transparency mode off, I've done something that I've only done with high-end over-ear headphones (like my Sennheiser HD660s).. I've felt the need to take them off to see if what I'm hearing is coming out of the drivers, or if I was hearing something from the real world around me. The positional audio is pretty cool but there's some noticeable lag to it that can kill the illusion. Overall, the sound quality is quite good though They have more bass than I expected and overall they sound like they're much larger drivers. The active noise canceling is better than I expected to find in earbuds, but it suffers from the same limitation that all active canceling does.. it's much better at canceling out low frequency droning noises than higher frequencies. It is what it is.. that's 'baked into the cake' of noise-canceling tech. Integration with Apple products is unsurprisingly excellent. I appreciate the small things, like my phone being able to read out SMS & Slack messages when these are on.. something it doesn't do with other BT headphones. One annoying quirk though.. it happily joins to both my phone and MacBook but while using them with the macbook.. a chime on my phone will interrupt the active connection with the computer. The solution is fairly trivial.. disconnect them from the phone. There's three modes.. noise cancelling, normal, and transparency (where you're actively hearing your surroundings amplified through the buds and blended with what you're playing through them. Transparency is super useful in a lot of situations. I'd have given these 5 stars if not for the battery life. I'm used to using BT over-the-Air headphones and those have the battery capacity to run all day. I was so happy with these that I tried to use them throughout the day and even taking long breaks from them.. they ran out of juice before I did. I'm not shocked by this.. they're tiny, light ear buds. It's still a real issue though. What I haven't determined yet is how much the Active-Cancelling or Tranparency mode decreases battery life over the normal mode. At least the case does charge buds, but if you're planning to use them for a long time... like while waiting for a flight, and then through an entire long international flight.. plan on having to take them out to recharge at some point. Overall.. still very happy with them. There are some limitations but nothing unexpected. They're still just little earbuds so they can't perform like a large set of BT cans. In exchange for these limitations, I get other benefits though.. like the ability to get excellent audio that I can use outside in the summer without cooking my brain.. like what happens when I put a big set of cans on when I'm mowing the lawn in 90 degree heat. ;-P

new features are fantastic. sound is good enough. not the highest end sound quality but for the price ($170 something) they get the job done for most occasions. the micro phone is descent considering the distance from your mouth. new features. noise cancelation is okay. they drown out most of the noise pretty well. they are not going to do as good of a job like a higher end over the ear headset but then again that isn't why we buy these. i have been flying alot lately and these are a game changer on flights. drowns out the plane and people pretty well. even better if you're watching a movie. Passive mode is excellent. its like having hearing aids in. i swear i can pick up on conversations in a noisy place from across the room. its a bit weird at first but this is one of my favorite features. this feature is also very dynamic. you can clearly tell which side the sounds are coming from which is just great. Hate life. i feel like mine die alot, but i use them all of the time. you get about 4 hours of play time but they use power just sitting in your ear so take that into consideration. however, the case charges them pretty quickly to get a few more hours out of it. which is so clutch. and it doesnt take long to charge either. final thoughts. if your looking for studio quality headphones ,well these are not it. but for the price ($175) they are incredible. good sound, noise canceling , passive mode, charging case, iphone support and features, track my device, and they make a noise when you lose them( which you will ) make these then in their class. i was on the fence buying these and not once in the few months of owing these have i thought to myself " wish i didn't buy these". in fact i think quite frequently "man, made im glad i have these to cancel out that screaming baby three seats behind me". if you have an iPhone then get them. if not get something else beach you'll be missing half of their features.

Aún sabiendo que existen mejores opciones en el mercado por un precio similar yo me decanté por estos debido a la versatilidad del dispositivo, soy una persona que diariamente sale al trabajo y ocupa transporte, camino largas distancias, hago ejercicio, estudio y como punto personal es que a veces me da un poco de ansiedad los ruidos que generan las multitudes como las voces y así, así que el hecho de tener cancelación activa en un centro comercial, en la calle o en el transporte público me genera mucha tranquilidad y felicidad; el modo transparencia es sorprendente aunque hay una cantidad de ruidos muy específicos que se saturan un poco, lo cual habla del buen alcance que tienen los micrófonos incluso para captar sonidos a distancia larga o media, el modo transparencia es tan bueno que no necesitarás quitarte los audífonos para hablar con alguien, su batería nunca me ha dado problemas incluso cuando los ocupo durante todo el día, la conexión cuando abres la caja y los sacas es muy veloz aunque siento que podría mejorar para la próxima generación de airpods ya qué hay veces donde quiero consultar la batería y se tarda unos cuantos segundos en desplegar la pantalla de información, y por último y lo más importante para muchos de nosotros, su calidad de audio es más que suficiente, no es para nada mala, aunque si lo único que te interesa es calidad sobre funcionalidades y versatilidad puede que no sean para ti, pero el hecho de tener una calidad ligeramente por encima del “suficiente” (lo cual podría etiquetarlo como una calidad de audio buena-excelente) en unos audífonos tan pequeños y versátiles se agradece demasiado. Perfectos para aquellos que estamos en constante movimiento todo el día, eso si, las gomitas sellan muy bien el canal auditivo por lo que tienes que tener cuidado con el tamaño que seleccionas para las mismas, al igual que siempre será recomendable que primero conozcan qué tan bien se adaptan ustedes a los audífonos de gomitas ya que es por ello por lo que mucha gente no logra acomodarse a estos audífonos. PD: También depende mucho del ecosistema en el que te desenvuelvas, su funcionalidad con dispositivos apple es perfecta pero si cuentas con un android o la mayor parte de tu ecosistema es android puede que existan mejores opciones.

Been daily driving my pair since Febuary and the best thing about the Apple Airpods Pros is definitely the Noise Cancellation. Nothing I own matches how much it isolates the outside world nor the transparency mode which makes me feel like I'm not wearing airpods at all if I set the music low enough. the Sound quality is good enough but not the best there is so if you're going for that you can find better. Its easy to connect to my Phone and it can work with other things via bluetooth (though its a bit of a pain to sometimes switch between the iPhone and non-apple stuff). Overall, pretty satisfied about getting them but I also could've waited for a sale.

Anteriormente use los de Sony, los 1000xm3, tuve que comprar estos debido a que los de sony me dejaron de funcionar después del año. Pero volviendo a estos, el sonido de los AirPods es de tan buena calidad como los de sony, la cancelación de sonido es casi tan buena como los sony, el sonido ambiente es una locura, realmente parece como si no los llevaras puestos, y si le sumas el audio espacial aumenta la sensación de no llevar nada puesto. Lo único que me decepciono fue que el material de los audífonos y la mano factura de ellos, se ve de una calidad regular, así como la caja la cual se le escucha moverse un poco la tapa, dando la sensación de ser una bisagra de material barato. Fuera de ello la experiencia es buena, pero sinceramente si no tienes iphone no vale la pena, creo qué hay mejores opciones.
