Book is beautiful. The illustrations are realistic and very colorful. It inspires my five year old to learn how to 'color' like the illustrations. Each page/s is dedicated to a specific bird. The fonts are big enough for kindergartners to get motivated to read. The sentences are also displayed in different colors which helps the my young reader focus and appreciate reading through more sentences. Absolutely gorgeous, beautifully done book. Review: Great guide for kids - As spring returns my toddler has been fascinated by the birds, so I looked for a couple books that would cover some common birds. This book is a little old for him yet but he will grow into it and it has enough info on common birds it gives me some things to discuss with him when we see birds. I definitely plan on getting some more books in this series as he gets older. I appreciate children's books that discuss the animals etc. the child is likely to see in real life this covers 15 birds that are common in North America.

For budding naturalists
This book is a hit with my 4 year old grandson! Informative, good illustrations, but not too complex for kids or adults who are beginner bird watchers. There are some fun projects to do with kids. We are building a bird house now. Highly recommend

15 birds/41 pages/Softcover
We are a homeschooling family and I love the other take along guides that we have purchased before. Unfortunately, I didn’t give a thorough look at all the details for this book - I was expecting another hard cover, lengthy book. This book is softcover and 41 pages of content (bird profiles and activities) then several blank pages for notes. Fifteen birds (see table of contents pic) are described in the book and they are common birds which I am glad about that. I took off one star because it does seem pricey for a short softcover book, but I would recommend this to others since it covers common birds. There are no photographs in the book, but detailed, colored drawings do give children a good depiction of bird.

A nice introduction for kids
This is a simple little paperback that covers only 15 bird species, but our 8-year-old grandson, his 5-year-old sister, and his family have enjoyed it, and have in fact found most of these species in and around their country yard. As a gift, we paired this with Sy Barlowe's "Beginning Birdwatcher's Book", which has paste-in stickers and different information about these (and more) species. It's been a fun motivator to the chidren to paste in the sticker each time they discover a new bird.

Just Enough Detail for Young Kids
This book is FABULOUS! It is written on a younger elementary school level, but has enough information and meat to satisfy curious little minds. It also includes a few simple bird watching projects. Both my 5 year old and 3 year old have loved this book—especially the detail of comparing the egg size to coins and using the ruler on the back cover to see how long the different birds are. This is a book we will continue to get out each spring and summer as we observe nesting birds in the back yard. This obvious, but want to make sure buyers know there are no actual photos in this book, only colorful drawings. This has not been a problem for us.

Nice child's bird book
This is a very nice book on birds for children. It is laid out well and has very good illustrations. My two grandsons love to look at the local birds and we spend time talking about how to identify birds. This book and a pair of binoculars were a Christmas gift to them and they seem to really like it. We plan on Spring hikes to go bird watching.

I used Birds, Nests, and Eggs to teach my kindergarten class about bird life cycles and it was such a great resource. The language is simple enough for young learners to understand, and the illustrations are clear, detailed, and engaging. It sparked a lot of curiosity and led to great questions and conversations. The kids loved learning about different types of nests and eggs, and it tied in perfectly with our spring science unit. A wonderful book for introducing nature topics to little ones.
