Sometimes, You Just Want the Lights
Ah, the yo-yo: the OG fidget-thingie for attention-challenged humans of all ages. Fits in your pocket as any proper fidgetable thing ought to, and with which state-of-play can be as plain or fancy as you wish. I'm anything but a trick-throwing svengali, but I've managed to amass several 'yos as an adult: a few of Duncan's "classic" all-wood pro reissues from the early-aughts, and a Yomega Power Brain X. And then started thinking about something that lit up while spinning. "Silly kid stuff", I thought for a split-second, but then thought "hold it...it's ALL 'kid stuff' but so what?" Which is to say it's also about not taking everything so blasted seriously. Yo-yos are about cutting loose for a few minutes, letting your mind freewheel a bit. And, once in a while, it's cool to light things up - and this Duncan does that just fine, without getting too much in the way of the yo-yo-ing bit, meaning it has decent action and responsiveness; not exactly as snappy as my wooden Classics, but close enough to just be fun, and also adjustable if you insist on some mid-air trickery (Walking the Dog is about as fancy as I care to get). Not certain how far one can get on a single set of batteries, but if it manages at least a year of casual use, I'll consider it good. Recommended.

Imbalanced yoyo
Yoyo is imbalanced and always tiltied to the left. Also can't stay spinning, and always roll back after releasing the yoyo. So, can't do any yoyo trick.

Simple perfection
Just a really good light up yoyo.
