Q: Saw that this is handwash only, how did it hold up if you use the washing machine?

I wanted to wash it before wearing and didn't have ability to hand wash. I put it into washing machine on cold water inside out with a few other like items. I was disappointed because usually "hand wash" items can be washed this way. The gray part of the hoodie (I got the gray/navy/white one) looked like it's ready to pill, not smooth like it was pre-wash. Looks like I've had it for a long time and I haven't even worn it yet!

Q: Does it have two pockets and are they large and strong enough (or too flimsy) for a cellphone?

It has something much better than two pockets! It has that area in front accessible by both sides that is comman to many sweatshirts.!And yes it is large enough and stable enough for a cell phone or lsrger and to warm your hands. No side pockets to add bulk.
