Great little kit
The pdf instructions had a nice balance of brevity and advice. The pcb and parts were sturdy enough and functional. The instructions move from easier solders to more difficult ones. My only complaint: I would have loved to see an explanation of the parts, the electrical diagram and the design of the pcb in the pdf so I can figure out what questions to ask next. I would suggest buying specialty tape to hold some of the parts on if you don't have a third hand setup.

Easy To Use, Fun To Assemble
Instructions look great and are really easy to use. One minor point - the hexagonal PCB kit is the Hue 2.0. The previous kit indicated which hole the longest lead on the LED should go through with a dash but the 2.0 uses a square copper pad instead. This isn't reflected in the directions (which are otherwise excellent) so if you haven't used other kits this could be a stumbling block. Still, five stars, excellent product. If you have never soldered before when you are done it feels like you really accomplished something without it being too challenging. I bought this and the Blink kit and they are a blast to assemble while still having rewarding functionality at the end. Looking forward to bigger kits for intermediate skill levels from this brand.

Very fun and straightforward project
I've been teaching myself to solder and I really felt like I'd wasted money on a lot of previous learn-to-solder kits, but this one was great. The instructions were incredibly concise and it was a simple and sturdy enough circuit that I was eventually able to get it working perfectly even while making a few mistakes here and there. And, more importantly, the project left me feeling like I'd made something cool, something that wasn't just going to sit around gathering dust (the colors are fun, and I keep it in my perpetually dark bathroom closet as a light.) I'm really glad I did this, and am intrigued by the other Learn to Solder Kits.

Great product but dont teach anything about electronics
The board and components are all high quality. The instructions were great and gave a great overview of how to solder.Negatives: expensive for what it is. 13 bucks for something that is a throw away learning tool. I do like the great instructions but there is no teaching of how to use this on future products. Explain what resistor (or any other component) is doing. Please feel free to contact if I am wrong and there is more to this

A Triumph for My Sixth-Grader
I know nothing about soldering but my 11 year-old was interested in learning. I got them a soldering iron kit and this soldering project. The board has been thoughtfully designed and the instructions (pdf provided online) are clearly and well written. My kiddo did a bit of additional research on proper soldering technique and then dove in. I simply sat and watched for safety. It was a great triumph when the final pad was soldered, the switch flipped, and the LED lit up! It was a really fun skill and esteem-building exercise. Highly recommended. Thanks to the designers.

Great kit for kids (and adults)
Got this for my 9-year-old to do with my help. I know how to solder (I wouldn't say I'm good at it but I know the process) but he didn't really need a lot of my help to do it. He was able to follow the directions, make the project and in the end the lights are pretty cool. Good product.

Fun
Cool way to practice soldering

The only thing I don't like is the fact that it ONLY gives you practice ...
The kit does exactly as advertised in giving you plenty of chances to practice soldering (26 to be exact). The only thing I don't like is the fact that it ONLY gives you practice soldering. Apart from some basic instructions on the way to insert the components into the board and how to change colors, it doesn't tell you much about the components themselves, such as what the bands on the resistors mean. It's not a big enough issue to take off a star, but, since the kit is aimed at absolute beginners, it would have been nice to have some more background information on how the components work together and why.
