Ameriwood Home Aaron Lane Bookcase with Sliding Glass Doors, Blue

For the type of product this is, this bookcase is perfect. It's easy to assemble (I did it, myself, without help) and it looks lovely when finished (see photo included). One of the sliding doors arrived damaged (the top edge of the door was bent, and as that is how it slides along the top, the door doesn't slide at all once put in, and one of the wheels on the bottom doesn't function properly), but the customer care team for this company is quick and efficient and is sending me out a new door for it, free of charge and without any hassles. It was literally a five-minute phone call, and the person on the other end was very polite and helpful. Overall, I am very satisfied with the product and with the high-quality customer service of this company. Soon, I will have my replacement door, and then it truly WILL be perfect. Although I decided against using them, this product comes with wall anchors to keep it from tipping forward. I suppose that on thick carpet, something like that might be necessary, but I have low pile carpet, and it stands very stable on my floor. Still, I was impressed that they were included, just in case you might feel that it doesn't stand as stable as you'd like. The materials used for this are sturdy, but certainly not the highest quality you can find anywhere (the shelves are particle-board, and the door wood is soft and should be treated with care and not banged around - being that the doors contain glass panes, I would expect that people wouldn't be banging them around anyway) - but then, what do you expect for $157.00? If it were a $500 or $800 bookcase, I might expect higher quality materials, but the materials for this product are of the value the item costs. I am well-satisfied. It looks lovely in my home, and it will last, and those are the two things that matter to me. If you look at the photo, at the moment, I have a painting in the bottom shelf and the middle shelf doesn't have a lot of books on it yet. I will be transferring over books from my over-full bedroom bookshelf into this one very soon, though.

This is a very nice cabinet. As you can see, pretty easy to put together as the manufacturer mentions on the website. The finished product is very nice. This is not the final spot for the cabinet, just where I built it. We are redoing our sitting room and We will be purchasing several more to give us the needed shelves and Closed to keep our cats from sitting on everything. I built this by myself and from unpacking, taking all the stupid Styrofoam out to the garbage as I unpacked so that the above mentioned cats would make a mess, to final pictures it took about 90 minutes. I take my time, read the directions, lay everything out all over the room and work a leisurely pace. It could probably be assembled in 30 minutes if you rush and run. I give this a 10/10 on appearance, 10/10 on easy of build and a 8/10 for size(I knew it wasn't the height I wanted but I can't find the right cabinet in the right height) Would recommend Will be purchasing again(Right Now)

I purchased two of these to display my oddities collection, and I needed something with glass doors so my cats don't get to my items. The cabinets are fairly simple and straightforward to assemble. From start to finish, they took me less than an hour to assemble. Once built, they look much higher quality than they are, and are fairly sturdy. There are a few downsides, however. The first is that on each cabinets, I had a defective cam lock and a couple of barrel nuts that were defective (tip: test that the screws go into the barrel nuts easily before butting the barrel nuts in the holes and screwing them together. They are hard to get out of the holes once in- it will save you time and frustration) I contacted the company and they send additional hardware within a few days, and I was able to complete assembly. Between my 3 sets of hardware (the two that came with my two cabinets and the replacement sent by the company) I had 4 barrel nuts that the threading was off on, not allowing the screw to go in all the way) The metal of the hardware seems rather cheap and maliable, which may contribute to the problem. Additionally, having the adjustable shelves is kind of pointless, because if you don't put the shelves to run parallel to the panes of the glass, it looks stupid. The final complaint is that the doors slide slightly TOO well on the tracks that they don't close completely unless you close them very gingerly. This was easily fixed by adding cabinet door bumpers on the inside to add a little grip. With all of that being said, now that received my replacement parts and have them assembled, I absolutely love them. They look really nice, and we're exactly what I wanted. If the company had slightly higher quality hardware or sent a few extra of each with the assembly kit, I would give 5 stars.

This cabinet is just as pretty as it was in the picture. I assembled it on carpet (in under 3 hrs), which I think helped keep everything square. I had considered using bead board for the backing, but the included piece was very sturdy and did just fine. The doors come with adjustable wheels, so with a little tweaking I was able to get them to stay closed and be flush against the sides. My only mistake was forgetting to remove the protective plastic from the legs, which screw in. An excellent purchase for the thrifty homeowner.

I’ve been putting together a lot of cabinets & shelving units lately, all bought from Amazon. This was the most expensive piece I have bought but it was by far the best quality. It doesn’t look or feel like cheap particle board, like some other ones do. The instructions were clear, all hardware was bagged & labeled. It was super easy to put together by myself. Besides one rather large scratch on the inside of the side panel it was flawless. The scratch is not visible unless the cabinet is open so it wasn’t worth complaining about. All in all this cabinet looks great in my house and it’s very sturdy. It’s worth paying a little more for quality! I’m leaving this review to help others because I cannot even tell you how long I debated on which cabinet to buy, reading hundreds of reviews. Hope this helps someone else :)

This piece was a disaster. It arrived in seemingly good shape, but taking the pieces out of the box showed that there was edge -wear on a lot of the shelving. This is due to the paper thin protective packaging that they used. Any shift during transit caused the corners to wear against eachother. There are only 10 pieces to this (not including the screw in legs), so it should have been a breeze... and it was until it came time to put on the top/bottom. The instructions aren't super clear on orientation of some of the pieces and this leads to some taking apart/reassembly. For the same particle/compressed wood that I've had countless times, this is exceptionally flimsy. Any tiny bit of over tightening will lead to cracks and pieces actually being pulled through the wood. The back is literally held together by a piece of brown packing tape (or something quite similar). Any wonky move during placement, that put pressure on it, caused it to tear.... and going on a the recommended 90 degrees feels impossible because it doesn't go together that straight. Most modern, self assembly, furniture that requires nailing in the back, will have pilot holes to help with placement. Not this one, it's all blind... So, it's totally possible that you'll end up missing the hard wood or splitting an edge of it during the process. One of the reasons I bought this piece is that it was a floor mount. It has a wall mount included which is almost 100% necessary because the piece is sooooo flimsy and tottering. I don't live in a place that is super friendly to putting anchors in a wall, so this alone is super disappointing. Overall, for the cost it really feels like a piece that should be priced at about half as much... but it looks nice (although the doors don't fully close), so there's that. Such a disappointing product for something that could actually be pretty nice

A nice, put it together case for books or knicknacks. Need to pay close attention to instructions to assemble correctly. I now have four of these. Small enough to put into unused wall space.

We built the bookcase exactly as instructed. It was wobbly and front heavy. I barely touched it from the side preparing to move from the tiled floor where it was assembled to the bedroom and it crashed forward. I tried to catch the glass doors that flew our. While I was doing that, all the shelves crashed out. It was dangerous. Afterwards I checked it thoroughly. The horizontal shelves simply propped on top of rounded metal holders, which helped them fly out. There was no groove at all. Even the less expensive shelves I was replacing had grooves to help secure them. The doors themselves had to be secured in a different way that was not made clear in the confusing instructions. I would not recommend this for an amateur to build. In crashing, the shelves were damaged in two places. I could not send it back because it no longer fit in any box I could find, online or from local furniture stores. Amazon was gracious enough to refund part of the purchase price but currently it is sitting empty due to its unsteadiness. It rocks on my carpeted floor. It cannot be secured to a wall due to windows where it is needed. I am an avid reader with several bookcases and have never had this problem. It was pretty, though. I wish I could use it. I am trying to figure out how to rig it for safety.

This is an awesome display case for my Lego models and diecast metal car models. The only thing that the maker needs to be more careful of the wheels for the doors, because they had stripped out 1 of the screws that adjusts the wheels. Other than that the bookcase or Display case came in perfect condition. The colour that I had purchased is the red one. It can barely fit the Lego Expert build Batmobile and you get 4 selves, 1 hidden and 3 that you can see through the glass-wooden sliding doors. I own a red and a blue one and I love the red one a bit more since red is my favorite colour.

It is the perfect size for me, and is of excellent quality. It’s a gorgeous bookcase, not too difficult to put together (with two people). For how much I paid for it I am so pleased. The black is very elegant.
