Requires some pressure for truly dull and mangled blades but gets them back in usable shape with minimal effort.

This product is mostly great. I think a lot of the appeal of this product is the 3-in-1 use. I bought this product solely so I could sharpen an axe, and it did that exceptionally well, it was safe and easy to use, and my axe is very sharp now. So now I was left with this versatile product that I was only getting a fraction of the use out of; so I proceeded to try to sharpen a machete and knife with the designated knife sharpener, and thats when things went downhill. Neither the axe or machete seemed to fit in the slot, and they wouldn't sharpen, more just slide down even with complete stabilization; the complete opposite of the axe. All around good product, especially for axes.

EDIT: I increased this review from 1 to 5 stars. One was because it did not sharpen scissors at ALL. But then I used the "knife" end to sharpen a curved machete that I've been using vigorously to address hundreds of tall stick weeds on my farm. It removed several notches and sharpened the blade so well that I accidentally cut my finger and had to get a band aid after testing the sharpness. Scissors review is below.- - - - - -I used the scissors sharpener area to sharpen some standard titanium scissors. It absolutely did NOT work. I watched the Sharpal video in case I was doing it wrong. I wasn't. Also, you can tell in the video that even the video demonstrator's scissors are not making reasonable contact with the sharpening area. So his scissors didn't get sharp either!!

Serves purpose. Inexpensive. 100% works as advertised. Im in luv with ths item. Look, feel, size, color, function, ease of use, and results it provides, are unmatched. Very handy. Small enough to travel anywhere.

Im really pleased with this…. Did a great sharpening job on my kitchen knifes and leatherman tool blade. Also on my katana (a gift from a deceased friend).The best bit is that due to the unique design it’s virtually impossible to cut yourself while sharpening the blades, and the other sharpener i had it was always a risk.

A few strokes is all it takes and your blade will be super sharp

It's just ok it will sharpen your tools but there are better ways and products. However if you are a novice tool sharpener or just want something to throw a decent edge on a knife or Hatchett this guy will work. Just don't use all the time learn to strop you tool between use as this will remove quite a bit of material and once it's gone it's gone. Strop honing will refine the edge and save your blade. All this said it's a good value and has its place in tool maintenance.
