Q: What is the 1080 for? some nb have diff numbers i don’t understand why?

As far as I know, all the 1080’s are meant for running. They are a ‘neutral’ shoe so have no particular motion control built in so would not be ideal for anyone with a pronounced pronation problem for example - if you have motion control problems seek advice from a running shoe specialist retailer. As for the numbers, the last two numbers often refer to the version of the shoe. For example with the NB 1080A11 the 11 means it is a version 11 shoe. NB have made the 1080 model for a few years now but in that time since the original 1080 they have updated it 10 times so are now on v.11. You may still see v.10’s about in which case those last two digits will be 10 and not 11. I have no idea what the various letters such as A or M are between the 1080 and the version number such as 1080A11. Anyway, the 1080’s are meant for running, the midsole has a very decent cushioning system with comfort on a par with the Asics Gel system and the Nike Air system found in the Pegasus Zoom - all three have similar RRP’s.

If you have a true EE width I would recommend extra wide.

All I can tell you is that I have wide feet and I ordered the widest size available and these sneakers are super comfortable on my meet. Great running and walking sneaker. I suggest buying it and if by chance it doesn't meet your needs then just return it.
