MT2 - MT2 Morse Taper Extension Sleeve Socket Engineering Tools Drill Tool 30mm Diameter x 175mm Length

1st off, this thing took almost a month to get here, was not thrilled about that, but oh well, I have it nowI have an older Craftsman lathe with MT1 head and tailstock. I needed this so I can use MT2 tailstocks, and this seems to do the job perfectly.The internal MT2 taper seems a bit long, such that the male taper on my MT2 tailstock barely reaches the key slot to push it out. This was a not a huge biggy though, I was able to drop a bolt into the hole in the male taper that then protruded out far enough into the slot in the female taper, so that the tapered key would engage to knock the male taper out.Will add update later after I have had chance to use it properly.

I have a Shopsmith This extension helps to adjust the distance between the tailstock and headstock allowing for better clearance for the larger tool rest.

loaded this into my machine and its has a wobble to it. The shaft is bent.

I use this for deep bowls or when using the OneWay bowl hollering tool. Still get support and he tailstock remains out of the way.

I’d recently gotten a 2nd mini lathe for travel and smaller projects and didn’t want to have to get MT1 versions of all the accessories I already had in MT2. This did exactly what I needed it to and the couple of inches of bed length you lose in the exchange wasn’t an issue for my purposes. Saved a bunch of $$$

Excellent fit. and quality Makes the distance to headstock negligible. Great addition to my shop. well worth the cost

A perfect extension for my wood lathe, I may get another.

It works as it should; used as an extension on a tailstock on a lathe.
