AKG ARA USB Microphone, Black

First of all, I disagree with some the negative reviews given here. I would like to give a genuine review. I bought AKG lyra mainly for podcasting as well as recording. I pre-ordered the microphone and got it delivered on June 8th. I've been using it for different purposes since then. I can promise that it is a great quality microphone. Its worth every penny you spent for it. If you learn to adjust the gain control you will get crystal clear voice even in reasonably noicy atmosphere. I've tried recording it with Nuendo and Abelton live softwares and its results are impressive. I use it for zoom webinars and my friends say that it gives a clear sound. You can easily mount it on a normal microphone stand or a boom scissor arm stand. I use it on boom scissor arm stand a d I love it. You can easily connect it to Mobile, laptop or iPad. Though it's body is made of plastic, the stand is made of metal and according to my opinion that doesn't affect us in any ways. If any of you are looking for a budget microphone with an assured quality and performance you can surely go for it without hesitation. We are using AKG codeless microphones for few years in our church, with that experience I can tell you that AKG keeps the sound quality, durability and their standard even in their least priced models. Before I purchased it I went through a lot of international reviews and comparisons. All the professional guys gave good positive comments on AKG lyra. Compared with several others brands and features I found it better and affordable. I am glad about my choice.

About the Mute button light indicator in international reviews, It does has a mute button light indicator. I have attached a picture. Maybe this didn't have any light at the first few lots and they have added the indicator to later products. Coming to AKG, it is a renowned brand for microphones and headphones, now owned by Harman owned by Samsung. About Lyra, it is the only USB microphone from AKG and it is good. Good for podcasters and YouTubers. Pros: 1. It is a multi-pattern microphone with 4 capsules. And it works as advertised. I bought mainly for the stereo. 2. Recording quality is awesome. Clarity is good. Excellent for voice over. Gain is great. Value for money. 3. It has USB-C connector. Unlike other similar usb mics with printer connectors. So you can directly attach to a macbook pro using C to C cable or via USB OTG cable to android. Cons: 1. Built quality is not good. Unlike other microphone like Yeti which are made of metal, this one is plastic. And the knobs wobble. Not good to carry in a bag. Though the stand is heavy. 2. There is no gain mark. I had to create marks using marker. This is a major drawback in this device. You can't find gain measurement. You have to mark it. About made in China, except Ahuja and Neumann(handmade in Germany) every microphone is manufactured/assembled in China as of now. So, think about it.

The functionality is excellent (5/5), and it's truly plug-and-play (5/5). The clarity is very good (4.5/5), as is the overall quality (4.5/5). Considering the price, it's a strong product (4/5), though I deducted half a point because it lacks app control.

This AKG Ara is a good choice and here is why! 1) Solid build quality like a tank. I even dropped it once from my table, not a single scratch. Everything is metal except the control knobs. 2) Good balance sound for beginners, unlike other USB mics at this price range. 3) USB C connection along with a 3.5mm jack to monitor your input that has no static noise problem. 4) Mute indicator along with control knobs. The only con is that it picks up boom arm noise in cardioid/front mode, but when you switch to Bidirectional/front & back mode it completely mutes it, which should have been the opposite. It's a pretty good mic for me. Although I am not a professional, I have seen many voice actor's reviews, and after using it, I'm pretty confident about my statement. You can buy it you won't be disappointed.

Worth the money. Crystal clear Professional mic transformed for lifestyle user, so that we can easily connect it to computer or phone. Very best for Zoom, Webex and other meetings. also for office chat VOIP Calls. For computer connection, just a USB cabke comes along with the .ic. For mobile connection, you need an USB adapter with USB Female pin in one end and either 3.5 male pin or USB C type male in another end based on your phone's audio pin type. You can adjuat the mic gain so that the opponent can hear even pin drop sound because the mic is damn sensitive so it can xapture vocals iutside your building as well. dont worry you can adjuat the gain so use it for the purposes. Capyure modes are great, front for single audio, front and back for 2 people talking in opposite to the mic. And stero mode for group talking to the mic.

The product's plastic casing appears to lack durability, raising concerns about its resilience to accidental impacts. This product is not suitable for professional applications.

It is general microphone, but I should accept the built quality is very good . If you connect to phone is doesn’t show any sign of existence. Noise reduction is not possible.
