Rowing Machine Seat Cushion (Model 1) for The Concept 2 Rowing Machine with Medium Thickness Dual Density Memory Foam, Washable Cover for Indoor Erg, Concept 2 Rower, Water Rower Seat Pad

I ordered this cushion after realizing that standard gel and foam pads were not going to cut it for frequent long distance erg sessions. It met and exceeded my expectations and has made a huge difference in alleviating the discomfort on my backside during extended workouts. Fits great on the Concept2 Model D seat and has little rubber grips that hold the cushion in place while you are rowing. As described, the outer cover can be removed and washed (though I have not experimented with cleaning the inner memory foam material yet). Overall this product is excellent - it provides much more cushion and support than any of the seat pads and similar products that I have found to-date.

My 1 hour rowing sessions were so uncomfortable! Continually shifting in the seat to relieve the pain. I had the seat cushion sold by the rower manufacturer, but it wasn't good enough. Then I bought this seat cover. What a difference! I'm able to row for an hour without ever shifting in my seat. No pain, no discomfort, no nothing. And it doesn't slip, which was one of my concerns. The bottom has all these really small bumps and it holds the seat cushion in place perfectly. I highly recommend this seat cushion.

On first use (6K indoor row) the cushion felt just firm enough, comfortable and not as "pillowy" as the earlier version. That cushion had two elastic straps tha helped hold it steady on the seat. This one does not have the straps, but the cushion did not move. So far, impressed.

This seat provides ample cushioning for long row or erg sessions. It doesn't lose it's effect and maintains a nice balance between the seat and my 'sit bones.' I've used this on both my Concept 2 erg and my Hudson rowing shell and it works equally well. I normally row/erg at least 10 meters [1k] and as I've aged, I've noticed that I'm prone to pressure points and even an abrasion now 'n then. There are a group of us that discovered this pad and we're all using it at our rowing club. Some folks have hip/joint issues and they've indicated that this makes all the difference, helping them maintain contact with their seat without any pain to their hip joint during long rows. Others have stated that it makes rowing long distances far more pleasant. As for me, I'm a lightweight and it has helped me keep my focus on my stroke, rather than focusing on the discomfort that can come with rowing long distances. Finally, several of us have noticed that despite the cushioning, it doesn't elevate us too much, so we're not off center in the boat. Honestly, for me and my rowing companions, this is a great product and has truly made difference both on and off the water. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another and may do just that--keeping one on my erg and the other in my boat. Definitely worth the price. Lightweight, not too large to stuff into my rowing bag, and easy to keep clean [just wipe with a damp cloth]. This makes those long rows a pleasure! First off, I'm a 110# female using my C2 erg for cardio endurance training. Not into setting personal bests; just steady rowing doing 2500m at UT1, then another 2500m at UT2, getting in shape for long distance paddling on the water. My erg's hard seat makes it a challenge to erg for more than 30 minutes a session. I tried using a piece of cushion foam cut to the shape of the seat and while that helped somewhat, the foam would slip. Saw the 2K Fit seat mentioned at an indoor rowing site and decided to give it a try. It arrived today. I closely inspected the stitching; it's well tailored and sewn, so I plopped it on my erg seat and started to row. It's comfortable (oh, joy!). No slippage. So comfortable that after I finished my 5m session, I did another 2500m unstrapped, just to work on technique. I've not been able to do a 10m session, but with this seat and a rainy/snowy weekend coming up, I think I'll turn on my Amazon Firestick, select a movie, and give it a go.

I have to say I am extremely impressed with this product on two levels. First, the product itself is near perfect for what it is designed to be used for. I purchased this to use on a Concept 2 Model D fitted with an EndureRow seat. Rowing Machine Seat - Fits Concept 2 Normally the EndureRow seat does a great job of relieving the pressure in the sitz bones but I have been rowing in excess of 200k per week for the last few weeks and I have had some discomfort I have been trying to mitigate. This product is a little smaller than I thought it was going to be both in size and in thickness. Having said that it is actually much better than I had hoped for. The size is actually perfect for both the stock seat and the EndureRow. There is some textured material on the bottom that provides sufficient tack so the cushion does not move at all even during vigorous sprints. The best part of this cushion is the use of memory foam. I was concerned that this was going to be too thick and create an awkward rowing angle. What is interesting is that the memory foam actually compresses significantly providing a sufficient amount of cushion without being too thick and increasing the seat height too much. I have used this for rows in excess of 3 hours and it has proven to really take the edge off. Second, the seller of this cushion is very proactive. He has reached out to me with three separate emails letting me know how to get a hold of him, explain who he is and a little about the company. He also included a beginners guide to rowing which was thoughtful and would absolutely prove valuable to people new to the sport. I did not reply to any of these emails but I did appreciate them and they are partly the reason I decided to write this review. This seller appears to really care about the product and his customers. Bottom line, this is a great product and I highly recommend it. I have tried many options over the years to help with seat pain when using an erg and this is by far the best product so far.

I bought this cushion 2 years ago to use it while erging and rowing, and I loved it, it was firm but comfortable, sinking in slightly while maintaining my posture. It was run down after 2 years so i just bought a new one and this one is awful :( it is so hard that even when I sit on it, (I am 125 Pounds) it keeps its form, it feels like sitting on a stone, I am so unhappy, I am returning it.

My tailbone was hurting on a concept d rowing machine. This helped somewhat. The pad is very firm memory foam. So yes, it sinks in a bit and adds some cushion to the seat, forms to my butt bones. At the same time, the foam itself is so firm that it only takes the edge off of the pressure points. I can row to 30 minutes well enough which is what I wanted and I am more comfortable than I was before. However were I to purchase again, I would go with something softer/gel.

Very comfortable seat to place on top of indoor rowing seat, certainly helps with the uncomfortable original seat and for those longer rowing sessions.

I can now row for 30 minutes comfortably with this cushion. I have to stop at 15 without it.

I love rowing, I've rowed on water and am just getting into routinely rowing on a machine, but I have always found the seats so painful, I've struggled to do a decent workout because of bottom pain, no matter how I adjusted myself or what padding (a fleece jacket or something in desparation) I've used. I bought this and IT IS WORTH EVERY PENNY. There are only a few reviews in the UK, but I want to add to them! It's made rowing a joy. You sit on it, it doesn't slide off or around or make you feel unstable in any way. You sit on it, you row. And row. And row. I even got complimented on my rowing last time I went on the machine, and it's down to being comfortable and relaxed due to this seat. How it would work in an actual boat - I don't know - it should work well, but definitely on a machine - it's fab.

Fits perfectly and made my 40 minute rowing workout extremely comfortable. It’s a necessity for the Concept 2 Rower.
