Are you supposed to take store-bought sliced bread out of the bag when putting it in the bread box?

You can do it either way. I like to leave mine in the bags, but for a crispy crust you can take it out of the bags.

The box is metal, it’s not heavy it’s very light. Well made, looks great on the kitchen countertop.

Is this design available in any other colors? I would really like it in white, but I'm not finding it.

Unfortunately it is only available in grey right now, but we do plan to release some more colors very soon, and we will keep this color in mind as a future option. Thank you

Is the container a dark or light grey?

It is the same color as the photos in the listing. This is the exact box you will be receiving. These are actual photos of the box. So I would say a medium grey color would be the best way to describe it.
