Better than Expected
I read all the reviews and was skeptical but I love the look because it reminded me of a cup that came from my Granny's house years ago. Now that I have had for almost a month I feel like I can post an honest review. If you are expecting this to keep your coffee hot for super long times, it's not made for that. Whenever you have coffee in a porcelain cup it never stays hot for a long time. Think of all the restaurants you've had coffee. But it stays hotter for longer than most porcelain cups I have owned. It is very thick and heavy and I really love the lid. I close between sips and keeps it warm enough for me until I finish my coffee. I feel that it is well made. I did not buy to take with me in the car and I am almost sure that it wouldn't fit well in my cup holders anyway. My only complaint is that I can't fit my hand in the cup to clean but I rinse out well right after I use it so I don't have to scrub inside. It has been through the dishwasher several times with no problems. I do feel it was well worth the money.

The Mug That Stole My Heart
My lovely Jane (now in her second incarnation)Let me tell you about my relationship with Jane. The original Jane came to me secondhand, and we had a beautiful romance until she suffered what I can only describe as a "Beauty and the Beast level" chip situation. I'm talking waterworks here. Time for Jane 2.0.Jane 2.0 is everything I remembered and more. She's a proper lady in my new car, sitting perfectly in the cup holder like she belongs there. Now, my 2001 vintage ride? Jane simply refuses to sit like a lady in those ancient cup holders, but honestly, I forgive her completely. A mug of her caliber has standards.Unlike those brutish stainless steel contraptions that make tea taste like you're drinking from a toolbox, Jane keeps my tea tasting like actual tea. Her dainty little cap is the perfect gentleman, protective but not overbearing, keeping splashes at bay without making a big fuss about it.Here's where Jane really shines: she's reasonable about temperature. Pre-fill her with boiling water before making tea, and she'll keep things hot but actually drinkable for my commute and beyond. No hour-long standoffs with molten liquid here, Jane believes in civilized tea drinking. The entertainment value? Priceless. My 1-year-old is absolutely enchanted by Jane's lid-removal capabilities (strictly supervised carpet-only performances, naturally). It's like having a built-in baby toy that also happens to serve excellent tea.And can we talk about her thoughtfulness? Jane comes with her own little "gloved base" a subdued colored silicone coaster that protects my boss's wooden furniture. She's basically the Emily Post of travel mugs, always thinking about proper etiquette.Fair warning: Jane has some heft to her. She's not one of those flighty, lightweight mugs that might accidentally float away. When you lift Jane, you know you're holding something substantial. Each sip has weight, literally and metaphorically.Bottom line: Jane 2.0 is the Goldilocks of travel mugs, not too hot, not too cold, not too fancy, not too plain. She's just right. If you're looking for a mug that combines functionality with a touch of class, Jane might just be your perfect match.

Overall happy with my purchase
With all the hype around microplastics I decided to shelve my favorite plastic 20 oz insulated Thermos mug and find a plastic free alternative for my morning coffee.I had a list of requirements for my new mug. No plastic or metal (I love my Yeti for cold drinks but hate the metallic taste it gives hot beverages), at least 16 oz capacity, microwavable, and it must come with a lid (not only to avoid spillage, but to help keep my beverage hot). This morning was my first experience with the Ello Jane mug. Overall, I am pleased with the product. It is very well made and much heavier than I expected it to be. It is also very attractive, which is a bonus since I tend to leave sitting out all day. While the product description states it is 18 oz, I found it easily held a full 20 oz, I just took a couple sips before putting on the lid.The rubber bottom is nice, I just wish they also had thought to put a rubber ring about halfway up the mug (why 4 stars instead of 5). Even though the handle is large, I found myself wanting to hold on to the cup when drinking and the ceramic is hot! The addition of a rubber ring would let me hold onto the cup without burning my fingers.I like my coffee hot, so I preheated the mug with hot water while the coffee was brewing. I don’t know if the mug kept the coffee as warm as the Thermos mug did, and the last few sips were a bit tricky to drink because of the way the lid sits but given that I can enjoy my morning java without fear of ingesting microplastics, I found it a fair tradeoff. All this to say, if you are looking to upgrade from plastic to a well-made ceramic cup/mug you should give the Ello Jane ceramic mug a try.

Great ceramic mug with lid
Pluses: Heavy, solid; attractive; large capacity; nice choice of colors.Minuses: If you have weakness in your hand, this may not be for you; Lid is completely tight and will leak little if it's on its side; no pin hole on the other side of the lid makes it a little harder to drink; Does not keep liquid as hot as long as a thermal steel tumbler but long enough for me.Overall: Mainly I like it for the ceramic and the handle.

Doesn’t hold temp
The coaster bottom is nice, the size is nice, the cup all around is a good cup but it doesn’t hold temperature at all. I’ll make my coffee and by the time I’m in my car heading to work. 10 minutes later, it has drastically lost temp and will be cold in under an hour.

Tall, ceramic and non slip bottom
Great mug. Just ordered another one for work because i’m keeping this one at home. It’s big enough for my nesspresso pod coffee and milk froth, its base is great! Non slip and bpa Free. easy to clean too, my hand fits inside. I really love it.

Ceramic
Adorable mug with large capacity but since it's ceramic, it don't keep your drink hot or cold for too long. Is wide enough to be easy to clean.
