Works great! Just be careful
I was so upset when my expensive hair straightener finally died and didn’t feel like spending a fortune to replace it. so I figured I’d give this one a try after seeing a bunch of good reviews.Im definitely happy I did cause it works great! I have very thick hair that is coarse ,kinky and frizzy. this hair straightener makes my hair nice and smooth and does so quickly .I will say it gets very hot I think it’s even hotter than my last hair straightener. so you definitely need to use a ton of heat protection also try it on the lower settings before putting it all the way up . I use spray leave in protection as well as a leave in cream that has heat protection and frizz control I have not noticed any heat damage on my hair .My only major con with this product is the button placement. once in a while I have clicked the up or down heat setting on it by accident because it is placed in an area where your palm can hit it especially if you’re trying to curl your hair with the hair straightener other than that and it’s really the only reason why I didn’t give it the full stars .I’ve really enjoyed it so far.

Watch your heat
I saw many reviews from other black women(I'm also black) who said it damaged their hair, so I was very anxious to buy. I washed my hair with shear moisturizer. When rensing out the conditioner I left some in the hair. I applied chi hair protector serum and the dark and lovely blow out heat protector before blow drying. I started on medium warm heat, when I got it as straight as possible, I finished with a hight heat and would put the hair strand on cool right after. I applied olaplex #3, both chi, and dark and lovely protector on the hair again after the blow dry. When I went to straighten I only used heat setting of 320. After, I applied some more olaplex and wrapped my hair in a circle then into a bonnet(repeated bonned wrap every night). I never straightened two days in a row. And in a week I passed the straightener only 3x or less in big chuncks on 320. Four times I used the setting on 350 and no problems. My hair was kept damage free and bone straight in mid-west humidity for TWO MONTHS. No issues. I highly recommend. Btw I am a all natural curly hair women. Never dyed or anything to my hair and its 4a for refrence.

I love it!
I like how well it straightens my hair. It leaves my hair feeling silky, it glides down my hair without catching, the buttons are conveniently located, and it doesn't burn my hands when I go to touch it. I would definitely recommend this product to people.

Not for thin hair, plates have too wide a gap.
The iron did heat up as described, it’s very pretty and feels well made. Slight potential to snag at the top of the iron. Hate that. The plates seemed smooth enough to glide however my hair just fell out of it. I have thin hair, and even taking larger sections I couldn’t fully glide the plate over my hair and evenly apply the heat because the plates had a gap the hair Just went through. It doesn’t SEEM like the gap is that large but when you have thin hair it is. Someone with thicker or courser hair would probably do fine with it but I’d be very cautionary with your hair type and condition. I feel like this was made for a specific hair type and didn’t consider diversity of hair. As another reviewer mentioned, it burned her hair off. another bit of advice...With irons and esp titanium plates you need to use the right heat for your hair and if you use high heat and have added oils you will scorch or burn your hair causing severe damage. Know your temperature for your hair type and don’t use heavy oils or bio silk with high heat. I scorched my hair once that way using a much lower temperature even (under 350) a lot of users are thinking they need the iron to go to 400+ To get one pass and such, most really don’t need that and you’re killing your hair growth and causing damage. You should never see steam or anything vapor off your hair as it is ironed. It can cause your hair to thin, split, fry, and stop growing. You end up needing to straighten your hair more often because of the damage you’re doing. Just a tip. Titanium heats up fast and (in theory should cool down just as fast but not with this iron), maintains high heat, most thin to moderate hair types don’t need this type of appliance and May find better results with a ceramic tourmaline iron. Your mileage my vary tho, lastly I’ll say this, if you have thicker hair (women of color for example) skip the cheapo irons and invest in something that is going to go the extra mile for you, a lot of the mass market drugstore irons I think are limited in that area. To be fair, the best iron I’ve owned to date is a contain infinity pro ceramic tourmaline. But it is almost 10 years old and I want a new one. So I’m on the hunt but it may end up being a higher news device this time.
