Will this work on a K&N oil filter that has the 1 inch nut for removal?

Yes it will. In fact I’ve had this magnet for a couple of years now and I use K&N oil filters with the 1 inch nut. It stays on. Magnet is very strong.

Will this fit on a 1997 gmc c1500 with a 5.0l v8 motor with a st5 oil filter? And if so, how does it go on?

This oil filter magnet sticks to the bottom of the oil filter. It will fit most oil filters but the oil filter magnet is flat so the flatter the oil filter the better. In cases where the oil filter magnet "rocks" on the oil filter because the oil filter is dome shape, you can use double sided foam tape at the edges prevent the rocking.Thank you,Midwest Corvette

Will this work on a motorcycle filter?

Yes as long as your oil filter is flat on top as the magnet is flat. If your filter is near the ground it may also help with getting the arrow at stop lights as the sensors for the lights in the ground may sense the magnet (the light sensors are not sensing weight but a disruption caused by the large mass of metal which the magnet can reproduce when close enough to the ground).
