Fantastic GS model
It's a nontrivial build, but it's fantastic once assembled. I ride a BMW GS, so I had no choice but to buy it (and have no regrets). The assembly takes some time, and you definitely need to pay close attention to the instructions (no winging it). I found it really helped to first lay out the pieces for each step, then assemble. This is because sometimes a piece is added in the diagram without being called out (and if you have a piece sitting there, it tells you that you missed something).Oh, and make sure to check which manual you're using before you start. I may or may not have gotten an hour into building a space ship before realizing it, disassembling, and starting over...As far as the bike itself, it looks great, and the articulating parts are fantastic. It's kinda surprising how well the steering, suspension, shaft drive, kick stand, and cases work. I wasn't expecting it to be so smooth. This will be a feature on my desk at work for a long time.

Husband loved it!
This was a gift for Father’s Day for my husband who rides a BMW motorcycle. He loves it and spent all day putting it together.

Patience and focus pays off.
Putting it together takes patience and focus, but I enjoyed the process and the end result. Make sure that all pieces are placed together properly because 1 mistake at any time will limit the functionality of moving parts as well as the sturdiness and appearance of the bike. The instructions/images in the booklet are helpful. I did not use the online instructions, just the booklet, and made the regular BMW 1200 GS, not the alternate bike that is shown as optional. Expect a small handful of leftover pieces...unless I overlooked something.

Open box product, not new.
I tried to order twice and ended up with an open box both times. Very disappointed.

Fun but it's a Lego Technic kit, not a regular Lego block kit (but you probably already know that)
Disclaimer: I'm new to the Lego kit scene, and I didn't have any experience with Technic's before this kit.I think you either love Lego Technics or you don't. I got this kit after building a regular Lego set and was a little disappointed with Technics since you don't build with blocks so much as connect pieces with joining plugs. Don't get me wrong, it was still fun to build it, but I think I prefer the more traditional Lego block building approach.I was able to finish this bike in a few hours. The instructions were clear and easy to follow and the pistons connecting to the crank shaft connecting to the driveshaft and rear wheel were pretty cool but the rest of the kit wasn't as exciting as I had hoped for. I much preferred the Saturn V rocket kit I had just finished, now that was a really cool kit and good experience for me and my daughter to build together over the course of a week. This is really a 1 person kit since it goes by pretty quickly.

Awesome, pretty close to the real thing
Got this for the bf who owns the same BMW motorcycle and a big fan of Ewan McGregor's "Long Way Round" series (of course, I also got the Lego Obi-Wan Kenobi, which fits this motorcycle perfectly). Only thing is there is no seat for the motorcycle, otherwise, it's pretty close to the real deal. I think it's one of the best thing from Lego and the price is very reasonable too. Great gift for kids or the kids at heart!

Good placeholder until you can have a real one, or a nice reminder!
Got this as an unexpected Christmas present and loved putting it together. As an older airhead owner, it captures the essence of what classic BMWs are all about: a boxer twin, shaft driven bike built for adventure. Only odd thing is there's a distinct lack of a seat, so my stuffed animal rider 'Rocky' Raccoon has to stand on the pegs to save his bushy tail! Scale-wise seems close to 1/7th, so a 1/6th scale action figure wouldn't be too out of place.
