If I Had a Little Dream

One of my absolute favorite books. I bought this book when my 2nd born was still just a baby. I have read it to all 4 of my children. I also buy this as a gift for every baby shower I have attended or sent a gift for, for the last 9 years. The illustrations have a nostalgic and whimsical feel and the words are just so sweet!

Highly recommend any of Nina Laden's kids books. The stories are beautiful and the art is stunning - whimsical & intricate. I could look at them over and over again! I got them a little early and would probably recommend for reading to age 4/5 and up.

The illustrations and writing are so beautiful and I love the ending. It is great for kids and also make a great baby shower gift.

Initially dismissive of what seemed to be overly sentimental, silly, sing-songy text, I now love this book enough that I purchased my own copy. I even told my husband (when we were led to believe I might have a serious health condition) that if anything should ever happen to me, I wanted him to give this book to my oldest daughter. Not only are the illustrations beautifully stylized, but the text has endeared itself to me--and to my four year old--over time. We often quote the last lines of the book as a reassurance of love for one another, often as a parting or bedtime gesture. Whenever I say, "If I had a little dream, I would name it You," my daughter responds, "You would make life magical, where wishes do come true."

I love this book! We have a copy here, at home, and this purchase was for a friend who just became a grandma for the first time. It’s perfect to read to your children or grandchildren.

Anyone looking for simple, sweet, and timeless books should be beelining for this one. The art is so thoughtful and detailed, the literature is high quality, and the general storyline is just as incredible. I wish I could find 100 other books just as good.

My daughter (3 years old) loves it. It is one of my favourite book to read to her, so emotional. It's not to long very poetic plus the pictures are lovely. It's a must have in your little one library
