Don't see a chiropractor 'til you've read this book!
My brother put me onto David & Sandy Nette, and their case, long before David sat down and did such an eloquent, matter-of-fact job of detailing the history of Sandy's misfortune at the hands of a chiropractor. In doing an 'upper neck vertebral subluxation adjustment', the chiropractor ruptured blood vessels in the back of her neck, bringing on a series of cascading mini-strokes. These strokes ended up paralyzing Sandy from the neck down.David turns in some excellent pen strokes, drawing the reader reluctantly into both Sandy's and David's world. This is an emotional roller coaster ride for both of them, and the reader, so unless you can handle the truth, well, what the hey - put yourself in their shoes, buy the book and see if Sandy recovered, they got justice, or even if you think you should be warned about certain chiropractic procedures, and the sometimes horrendous results that accompany them!

It can happen.
I loved the way Dave and Sandra were so open with all that they have been through in this medical journey. We all need to realize that indeed, life can change dramatically in" a blink of an eye"! We know Sandra and Dave through a relative of ours so we knew them before this terrible injury took place. Through it all we have been amazed and encouraged by what real love and committment is like and has been demonstrated by this couple. It has definately not been an easy road to travel but the strength that each of them has shown is a testiment to their character, devotion to each other and to conquering whatever may come their way each day. This book also teaches us what we sometimes never think about when it comes to sick/injured people and what their perception is of their situation. Little things for us may be huge things for them such as realizing that they are aware of what is going on around them and to include them in the conversation and/or decisions that are being made about them and they lives. Lessons to be learnt from Real People in Real Situations. A must read! Wishing them the very best God has for them and waiting for a sequel to this book as their journey continues!

Touched by Tenacity
The tenacious spirit of Sandy and Dave to grasp and cherish life in the midst of tragedy and challenges encourages all of us to do the same, and models the way for us. I was deeply touched by that spirit as I entered Sandy's room in the hospital, and I continue to be stirred by it these many months later.

Interesting read
The story doesn't seem to be true locked-in syndrome but a very trying and courage story of their experience.
