How do you remove the old connector that fits into the ignition coil? Do you just pull it out OR do you press something to release the connection?

The plug at the end of the wire has a plastic loop. Under this loop is the release tab. You have to use a small flat screwdriver or, even better, a curved pick to gently pull the tab away horizontally from the coil body. You can then pull the plastic plug straight up to remove it. It may be stuck from years of being connected so you can tap it gently and/or wiggle it off. I would recommend putting a small amount of dielectric grease onto the connecting metal parts & to where it clips onto the spark plugs.
