They were exactly what I was looking for I wouldn't expect anything less coming from fender I was hoping to match the look of some of the earlier Fender models with these and they did exactly what I was looking for would definitely recommend them

Not all 5/16” drill bits are the same!
I bought these Fender “American Vintage” Telecaster string ferrules to upgrade an import Tele-style body with 1/4" through-holes. Key finding: the *actual fit depends heavily on your drill bit*, not just the nominal size. * The correct target hole size for these ferrules is **5/16"** * HOWEVER: not all 5/16" drill bits cut the same In my case: * A Ryobi 5/16" bit cut slightly oversized → ferrules were loose and would fall out * A Milwaukee 5/16" bit cut true to size → ferrules fit snugly and correctly So if your ferrules seem too loose in a 5/16" hole, don’t assume the parts are wrong—your drill bit may be cutting oversize. Additional notes: * These ferrules are smooth-sided (no knurling), which appears to be vintage-correct * They are not an aggressive press-fit—they install best with a snug, accurate hole Recommendation: Test your drill bit on scrap first before drilling your guitar body. I’m really glad i did! This ended up being a simple job, but only after verifying the actual hole size. Hopefully this saves someone else some frustration.

The product looks and functions exactly as expected. Bear in mind when installing on a new build that the string hole is smaller than the string ball receptacle. I used a Vernier caliper to measure these. Also, you have the option of recessing the rims of the ferrules. And of course the drilling and routing must be precise. The eye does not tolerate variation.
