Great immersion blender, underwhelming processor
I wanted a nice stick blender kit to use and as an immersion blender this thing is wonderful. Soups puree in no time, this thing is magic. Regarding the rest of the kit, the whisk and mini processor use a speed reducer to connect to the blender. This means that the processor does not spin fast enough to emulsify things, even using the turbo mode. It does still work well for blending chipoltes into pre-made mayo, but I cannot make my own aiolis from scratch using the processor. I haven't used the whisk yet to comment, but it also uses the speed reducer.

FINALLY!
UPDATE FOUR YEARS LATER: (down to 2 stars) I use this no more than twice a month. After a year, the flange on the immersion stick came apart and the replacement cost was too high, so I have chosen to work with the flange dangling. Not the most convenient, but it worked. Today, while making cream of chicken soup, I inserted the immersion blender into the pot and within seconds smoke was pouring out of the motor. Not cool! I think a specialty appliance like this should perform far more than 50 uses. I am terribly disappointed and have written to Dualit to request a refund or replacement.ORIGINAL REVIEW FROM 2013: (5 stars)I can't believe I waited so long to buy an immersion blender, but I am glad that I found this one.I hate to clutter my kitchen with extra specialty appliances that inevitably wind up in a cabinet 'cause it's easier to just do without. So I resisted, despite everyone's raves about their immersion blenders. And I continued to make soups the messy, annoying, old-fashioned way with my blender. One day my husband was helping me make the family's favorite curried pumpkin soup. Gesturing to the spilled soup and endless pouring, whirring, and transferring, he said there must be a better way. I told him that I had heard good things about immersion blenders. He was all for it. So we read and compared and questioned until we found this. We bought it for each other for Christmas.I tried it on a butternut squash soup first. What a revelation! It worked quickly, quietly, and efficiently. There was no mess and clean-up consisted of popping the attachment into the dishwasher. As it is new and has only been used a few times, I cannot address its durability. But does it do what it says it does? Heck yeah!

Finally! Quality!
I've had my share of junk immersion blenders. Some of which only lasted a few months. So, after deciding that buying a $65 immersion blender and replacing it in a few months with another one is just silly, I've decided to go with something that has long lasting value. This is it!1) Very high quality strong motor. 5 of 5 stars2) Clever attachments including hand mixer! The hand mixer is plenty powerful enough for mixing cookie dough. For something easy like cookies, why drag out the huge mixer? 5 of 5 stars.3) The fit and feel is total quality. All the attachments work well and fit well. 5 of 5 stars.4) The immersion blender can even turn crushed ice (from your refrigerator door) into SNOW! Yes, the blades are that strong and sharp and the motor is that powerful! 5 of 5 stars. So, stop playing on the immersion blender merry go round, and buy your last one!Further if you are looking for a larger stainless steel cup than the one it comes with, This one works perfectly below ....http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000KDWG7W/ref=oh_details_o05_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Well designed!
I wanted a machine to replace my giant Vitamix that took up a lot of space on my counter. I choose this Emerson blender because it chops and blends.I like the shape of the handle. It fits my hand and makes the pushing of the on button easier especially with weakened hands.I have used every day since I got it and it definitely has enough power to chop veggies and make smoothies. The blender part is stainless but the handle part is plastic. So far it has cleaned up easily and and comes apart easily to switch the blade out to the chopper. I gave it 4 stars because of the plastic upper body part, but I suppose it keeps the blender from getting too heavy. I like it and I hope it lasts longer than my Kitchen Aid Emmersion Blender.

Excellent Immersion Blender
What a fabulous blender! I made carrot, butternut squash, sweet potato, ginger soup and it came out perfectly smooth! I’m looking forward to seeing how the blender works with other recipes. Highly recommend!

Great portable blender
I like the portability, the quality and the functions of this product. On top, it has the power that handles all the fruits that I've used so far, and it's quite easy to clean.

Didn't work out of the box
OK, must tell you upfront, that I never ran this device. I couldn't - it was broken right out of the box! Could be bad luck.I can mention two facts that might be relevant for you. First, it is much more plastic-y than metallic -- the chrome finish is on plastic not metal. Paying good money one does hope for a really solid device. This one doesn't look it or feel it.Second, not sure whether this matters to you but it's made in China. I'm completely fine with products that are made in China, but then I would like the manufacturer to be honest about this. This whole British/ designed in the UK is a smokescreen for the fact that it's made in China. More than being worried that it's made in China, I'm worried that they are trying to obscure this fact. The cheap quality is proof positive on this. Just to sum up this point: I'm fine with buying decent quality but cheap products, but then I would like to pay a commensurate price. If I pay twice as much, then I'm looking for something solid. This isn't it.

very well engineered
It really is a joy to have this as part of my kitchen toolset. Makes short work of everything I use it for from making fresh salsa to simply immersion blending of just about anything.

Powerfull and solid built.
Bought this immersion blender over a year ago and it was a good replacement to my faithful Braun. Powerful, it will turn frozen fruits and ice in a nice smoothie in no time. I use it for every bending need I have. I just love it.

What a wonderful machine this is
Wow. What a wonderful machine this is. I use it all the time to make neat stuff. It works in hot soups while they are cooking, and in cold dips too. It's my favorite kitchen tool.
