Excellent All Metal Bobbins. Top Quality For A Great Price
These things are awesome they work easily and run smoothly with the machine, no snagging or jamming with thread, they hold a lot of thread, their solid metal sturdy construction well made, strong, and do not bend like a cheaply made bobbin would. Nothing like old school solid metal bobbins. I find these especially great when working with heavier threads used for stitching jeans, they also work well with light weight cloth etc, they are excellent with a variety of sewing projects like decorative stitches, sewing zippers on, and patches on jeans and more. Top quality for a nice price, I love buying these in bulk you get more that way to, in sewing stores the amount per package is limited to a meager few and a higher price as wellPlastic ones eh ok if you like them but I still prefere metal to me they just feel more secure the, the reason I say that is because of my past numerous bad experiences with plastic bobbins one small nick on the edge and during sewing the thread catches on it and you wind up with a tangled knotted mass of thread under the cloth and as it did with me clogs the feeds and also sometimes breaks the needle, you have to cut everything loose the same thing happens if the plastic has a chip or crack that are often not visible to the naked eyeTips1 Bobbins-with a metal one if you find a nick on the edge with an emery board/fingernail file, file it until smooth. Plastic bobbin do the same, I did this it works well2 Thread-be careful with cheap polyester threads because they can easily fray and stitches break, there's nothing worse then having a seam break open when your away from home, eek happened to me with pants I made luckily I had a jacket with me I tied it around my waist and ran home. Acrylic thread or cloth I personally do not trust them breaks easily and some tend to be very brittle I learned this from past experience3 Excellent threads Coats and Clark.and Singer are 2 brands of threads that are of excellent quality and very durable. Cotton thread is the best and very strong. Nylon I find to be great for sewing bags especially bags made to carry groceries, clothes etc it's strong and durable and holds up well even with heavy use. Using Coats and Clark cotton thread when making jeans or other things with denim material you get amazing results that last a long time4 Cloth- I love denim but you must be careful when buying this because some are made with spandex added to the cotton cloth and trust this sucks especially when making clothes beacuse it's been my experience that lets say you make pants then lose a few pounds they stay all stretched out and never get the shape back and look horrible, unlike pure cotton which does not have this problem. Hope this helps

Seem well made
The bobbins I received seem to be better made than what I have been finding at the brick & mortar retail sewing notions suppliers in my area. They are more like the older bobbins I have that were handed down to me with the machine; the metal is a bit thicker and so far they are all balanced properly. I have been having trouble lately with lesser quality bobbins being skewed so that the "walls" aren't perfectly perpendicular to the "axle". My sewing machine is at least 50 years old now (one of the old cast metal ones!) and with the wear of age and heavy use the bobbin winder assembly has no room for error! No problems so far with any of these bobbins.Kudos to the supplier for keeping the packaging to a minimum. I ordered two 20pc packs and all 40pcs came together in one plain, heat sealed bag, no annoying bubble packs to deal with!Update 4/3/2015: I have come across a few bobbins that were a little off and a couple that were tight on the bobbin winder, but I have gone through a lot - I think I am on my fourth 20pc pkg. Compared to what I was encountering with the cheapies in the stores around here, I think that is a good track record, especially since the price is right on these bobbins. I will buy them again when I need more.

6 years going strong! Great for the price!
Definitely not perfect like the official ones you can buy from Joann's or Hobby Lobby. But these are great for the price and works just fine. It's a bobbin lol. I bought these back in 2014 and I'm still using it today. All of them are still in perfect condition like the day I bought them.So I swapped over to all metal bobbins after a nightmare situation with one of my plastic bobbins snapping and the thread went EVERYWHERE. Never use plastic bobbins! STICK THE THESE METAL ONES! Learn from my mistake. This is a great bang for your buck. Just go with these!

Compatible with and superior to Brother SA156
I bought these singers to use with my Brother XP9500PRW on someone's recommendation. That sewing machine is basically identical to the CS6000i, which is one of the most common sewing machines Amazon sells. I think almost all of Brother's current machines are extremely similar with respect to the bobbins.Anyway, the instructions emphatically insist that you use only plastic bobbins and only bobbins made by and for Brother. Yeah, yeah. These are exactly the same size and work better. They are a bit heavier so the bobbin has less tendency to unwind as you are putting it in and bringing the thread around, which means you more often get a good threading. Overall I just have fewer issues with my machine using these than using the plastic stuff Brother sells. The only downside is that you can no longer easily see when your bobbin runs out because these are not fully transparent. In practice this doesn't matter to me because I never end up looking anyway. In short, these are compatible with an superior to Brother's SA156 bobbin. Really Brother's SA156 is just class 15 and the material from which it is made doesn't seem to matter.

Balanced bobbins with well-machined flanges - you can never have "too many" bobbins
If you get hooked on sewing... buy these. What may seem like "too many" at first, will be "barely enough" once you realize how much frustration is saved by having enough of these for every color of thread. I've been finding other uses for them, too, which seemed odd at first, but they really are multi-purpose. Leftovers of hemp string, thin elastic, the spare yarn you get when you buy a nice sweater - all wrap around a bobbin and can be secured with a rubber band or a twist tie or a toothpick through the holes. Buy a bobbin box with a see-thru top and you can always see what you have on hand. *One small caution: if you leave your bobbins unsecured, and you have a cat in the house, your bobbins may begin disappearing. Fortunately, bobbins adhere to magnets, so retrieving them from under the stove or dryer is easier (glue a magnet to the end of a stick) than trying to extract soft toys...
