One of the Best Crossover Tale of Two of Comics Iconic Women Characters
Lisner’s art is still the star of this trade paper but the stories themselves are nuggets of gems. If one is familiar with the characters, this brings us to their roots as weavers of tales before becoming fleshed out characters with their own stories.

This was fun.
This was fun. The artwork is good, not great. The story was engaging with a twist or two. Vampy's normal smart ass was there, but it seemed toned down. The writer's focus veered toward Dawn more than Vampy.

Good story
I am a big fan of Dawn but don't know much about Vampirella. It's a good read and the drawings are amazing.

Nice Format, Beautiful Art
Dawn creator Joseph Michael Lisner has written and illustrated a five issue min-series featuring not only Dawn but her predecessor and inspiration Vampirella. Vampirella's current rights holder Dynamite Entertainment have collected the series with many extras in a Hard Cover format. Included are all the covers in both black and white and with fully airbrushed color finishes. Plus you get an introduction and afterwards and a mess of production art.The story itself is not the strongest, but still quite fun. Dawn and Vampirella are captured by a demon and forced to tell stories. These stories are sometimes told by one of the dou or sometimes together. Sometimes the stories seem like they could be part of their mythos like in my favorite in which we visit Vampirella on her home world of Drakulon. While other wild stories like their post-apocalyptic New York story feature characters with different names who are indentical to our lethal ladies.Since Vampirella and Dawn in Cry For Dawn started as hostesses for other stories, I suppose their role as story tellers should seem natural. I think I was hoping for a more cohesive storyline. But the reason to buy any Joseph Micheal Lisner book is the beautiful art, and he has outdone himself producing page after page of gorgeous and sexy art. I will try to include a few samples to entice you.Highly Recommended .

An Honest Review
I don't know where to sit with this. It is kind of what one would expect from a Dawn story, but doesn't really work for Vamprilla. It's kind of a win/lose in that respect. But, seeing a Dawn story again is just refreshing and welcomed.
