I cannot recommend this book enough. It is research-based and connects with Scarborough's Reading Rope and the STR.

Excellent resource for writing educators.

I am a literacy specialist and am enjoying digging into this text. I can't wait to apply this in a classroom.

I'd give the content alone 5 stars, but the printing quality is disappointing. This is a book I'll keep and refer to often but the pages are so thin and I'm not sure they will hold up. Also the print is rather small and the font is hard to read. For a $40 book I expected higher quality printing.

Every teacher that teaches writing MUST get this book! Excellent, explicit instructional strategies for students. Organized with systematic practice for students.

This book provides rationale, explanation and resources to support the updated Ontario Language curriculum (2023). The book covers scope of reading, sentence and syntax, vocabulary, forms of writing. Purchased this to further wrap my head around the updated curriculum since the ministry hasn’t added any teaching resources. Item came wrapped in plastic. Blackline masters are in book only. Website at back of book gives some templates, but not all for some reason.
