A very comprehensive guide
I was curious about the certification and was happy to find this book. I recently purchased this and have been reading this for some time. I really like how comprehensive the book is covering both batch and stream processing solutions and also monitoring and optimization aspects.

Great resource for the certification exam!
One of the better resources available in the market for the certification exam. Here are my observations after reading the book.Pros:Follows the exact topics listed in the certification, so that gives me the confidence that I didn't miss out on any topics.Easy to follow chapters with enough screen shots and examples.Cons:Since the book follows the syllabus as is, some topics are spread across multiple chapters. So you will end up jumping between chapters. Some examples are very detailed like in the ADF SCD examples, whereas some others it is high level. So you will end up having to do some extra reading from Microsoft documentation.Overall, a useful book that can help you with the certification.

Could definitely be better.
Firstly, I am a seasoned and certified data professional and is currently about halfway done with the book. Although I do find the theoretical chapters useful, the chapters aimed at implementation are poorly authored and put together. There are no details on how to put together lab environments prior to implementation chapters and scripts\syntax per tutorial are generic. The implementation "tutorials" are scantly written, lacking detail and by the look of things, sometimes missing steps. I for one, am a practical learner, so having to figure things out has its advantages, BUT I do expect a certification guide to GUIDE through the practical experiences, so that I can focus on understanding the concepts and practical implementations thereof and measure that against a correct baseline, instead of wasting time on plugging the gaps yourself and being unsure whether I got it spot on afterwards. Proper guidance is practically non-existent.No thought is given by the author that his audience may not be very familiar with the Azure and Synapse user interfaces and how to set things up end-to-end, making one waste a lot of time that could be better invested in actually acquiring subject matter knowledge. Do not expect to master DP-203 with this book exclusively, you will unfortunately have to get supplementary materials such as Udemy courses etc.Considering that this was the most expensive guide at the time of purchase with fairly good reviews, I expected to get what I paid for and this falls short on that expectation.

New Certs Rock
An excellent book continuing all the required details to obtain your certification Theres a digital link with every chapter so you can practice a timed iteration of all the questions. Suggests the goal to achieve, and what level one should be at prior to taking the test. Happy reading and good luck on your certification, with this book, you should ace it!

Easy to understand book
I just completed the first section of the book (Data Storage). Simple language and easy to understand examples made reading a lot easier. The book also provides additional reading material at the end of each section which i find super useful to deep dive on complex topics like Synapse SQL partitioning, indexing etc. I also quickly took a look at the last chapter which contains sample questions which is pretty huge and has a wide variety of questions to prepare. So far good start to the book.

This book provides a complete guide for the fundamentals needed for an Azure Data Engineer as well as providing detailed explanations with demos. It covered the basics of Azure to using Databricks and Azure Data Factory as well as transformations, batch processing, and stream processing. Wayy too many errors
This book has a lot of info but has a ton of verifiable errors. Multiple of the practice questions are even incorrect. With so many errors it makes it difficult to trust anything written in the book because it has a decent chance of being incorrect. I’m lucky I had the background experience to recognize the errors. I wasted about a week on this book and had to start from scratch using a Udemy course instead. With the help of that course I cleared the exam with a 93%. Don’t waste your time or money on this

If you are a working professional just buy this book.
I was trying to do the certification in parallel to my existing full time job. I must have easily spent 2-3 months reading concepts and blogs online. I got this book and now I realize it would have been much easier if i had read this book first. There are many topics in the Data security and Optimizations chapters that I just couldn't find enough information online or it was vice versa that there was so much information that I didn't know what to focus on.This book explains the exact concept with just the right amount of information and provides links for additional reading. Perfect for people like me balancing work and certification.

The book is Outdated! The syllabus was changed on November 2023 and the book is still based on the Old syllabus. Please check before buying this book! The author has not updated the book since last syllabus. I am returning this book because the syllabus has changed a lot after November 2023.

Don't bother even if it's free. Time is more valuable than money!
The hands-on chapters are pretty bad. Author skips many steps, e.g. demonstrating how to compress with spark he just presents a a few lines of script without showing how to implement it using the pipeline . Many other issues. i have wasted enough time not to mention the money.A very poorly though out book if it is supposed to be for practical instruction.
